Lets say I have 6 planets on 1 character, and I run them on a 2 day cycle. How much can I make from these resources?
I know this is a bit ambiguous so I'm aware it'll be a rough estimate.

As someone completely new to PI I have no idea where to start. I'm asking for a quick figure, whether it be 2m per week, 10m per week? Rough idea?

Edited by: TheMahdi on 17/08/2011 15:49:06 With good skills and good planets in low sec (get a Prorator), on like a 1 day cycle or less, you can realistically make a P4 with 2-input P3 (the ones that need 2 P3s) of P4 per cycle. You might be able to make a P4 with 3-input P3 but it would be considerably less than 1 day cycles and would require max skills.
Here is a good link: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Planetary_Commodities
Now guesstimate from there, you can see it's not fantastic unless your in 0.0.

you have to start with "what materials do I have?" then "what can I make with them?" then "what can I sell them for?"
Alternatively, "what's selling well?" is a viable starting point, but you might find you can't make everything without sourcing from the market.
sales price less taxes, import/export fees, opportunity costs, and any market sourcing is "profit".
Can't really give you a ballpark, since I'm likely not in your local market, nor am I interested in PI for sale so much... =========================

Making about 10M per day in high sec with lvl 4 PI skills (5 planets) using 1 day cycles. It's important to do some market research to figure out which product is the most profitable. I don't source from market and I am only making a P2. |

Using 3 Characters 1 trained to max others have only to get 5 planets and rank4 commmand centers. im makeing about 1 Bil monthly, running 1Day 1h cycles. very important to have it at 30min cycle. just a tip.

As with everything in Eve it depends how much time you invest in it.
You can make about 6-7% markup processing tier3 into tier4. You can do that in HiSec and you don't have to figure out optimal reaction chains for the planets available to you. If you can be arsed to move 1 bil of materials a week you can subsequently make 60-70mil a week.
If you have 1 averagely skilled character (Command Centers 4, Interplanetary Interaction 4) and want low maintenance of reactiviating extractors every other day and hauling once a week, you can make about 20 mil a week in hisec and 30-40mil in lowsec. If you go into lowsec and want to spend more time hauling commodities from one planet to another this can go up for 60-70 mil a week. This does require (at least) moving goods around every other day and daily reactivating of extractors though. These numbers go slightly up for WH-space and Nulsec, but realize that this is not because the mats sell for more, but simply because you will get more commodities per hour and thus will have more hauling to do.
If you go all the way with 3 trained characters and a lot of back and forth hauling and contracting, you can probably go up to 200-220 mil a week.

I do wormhole pi making mechanical parts. just mechanical parts. 7 characters, average skills, 5 planets each (we have 5 barren planets). plus all the fuels for a large faction POS. at jita prices, i tend to pull out about 2 billion isk a month. that is running on a 23 hour cycle, i reset my planets just b4 work each morning.

It depends on to many factors to give you a simple answer. 1) Location, best to worst; null/W-space > low > high. 2) Planets available, Plasma/Lava > Storm > Ice/Ocean/Temperate > Barren > Gas. 3) Skills, 4) If you have a local market or need to haul which increases your lost opportunity costs, your logistics capability, (Jump) Freighter vs Hauler. Alliance policy on POS construction & supply.
Very rough rule of thumb would be high-sec 30 Million a month to about 10 times that in very low true sec.

Given your parameters, you can easily make 5 units of p2 per hour and pull in 200 mil a month, more or less depending on the actual item being produced.

That's incorrect.
5 P2/hour = 115/day = 3450/month
At about 7000ISK/P2, you're looking at 24 million ISK/month, not 200.

I used to make 1 billion isk per week every 5 days.
I was using 9 chars though [3 accs]
If you really wanna make alot of isk in PI it is most definitly possible.

Current market Jita buy is around 45k, but can go as low as 40.5k
@ 42K that's 1.75M an hour I have the main line running. I'm pretty bad at remembering to log in, so that's only theorectical. However twice a month I venture out to sell 9-12K to keep my asset value down.

*scratches head*
How many separate toons are you including here, and what are you using the other 2-3 planets for (with Consolidation 4-5)?
I get about 1M /toon /planet /day doing losec extraction -> p1 -> p2 on the same planet, but that's because I run weeklong cycles as I'm simply too busy with other stuff. (Upgrades 5, Consolidation 4.)

Actually, GCSE IT helps more. Spreadsheets.
Most maths I use I learned before the age of 10 anyway. I use long multiplication all the time, but have never used standard deviation outside of AS statistics.
