So as the topic says.
I had put one of my alts up for sale recently, the character sold, i transfered money of the alt to my main character and followed the rules laid down by CCP.
Today i log into Eve to find out one account is suspended until 20th august 2011 for EULA violations, im like what ?
And my main account which is from 2003 is just well, incorrect username / password, can't reset password either, my guess is that it is also suspended but im not getting that message or by some frelled up CCP security somebody actually manages to get a hold of my user name + password, i'm not keylogged since my last 2 accounts, which one im writing from now is intact so is the other.....
So what im looking at now is :
1) My 2003 character / account is at this point missing. ( No emails from CCP , and yet still no response from support ) 2) My 2008 character / account is suspended , even though i sold the character and moved it of the account pr ccp rules. ( this one i recieved a email from CCP saying it was suspended due to EULA violations )
And CCP is yet so incompetent that they still after 8 years in the business don't have a phone number you can call to for support, no they only accept stupid petitions and emails which takes days upon days to be answered, and in that time , my very valueable account is in the hands of god knows who, not only that but i have director rights in my corp.
I know CCP has gone down the hill when it comes to customer care over the time and are more concerned about cash shop / micro transactions development, but this is where i've had it.

sent in a petition already yesterday, bout 24 hours ago, i mean heck even WoW's customer service have gotten 100 times better over the years, but ccp , no.....
sadly......
and i do want to bring more attention to this as CCP needs to frelling shape up on their customer service and be more concerned about who's paying their salaries , rather than trying to figure out more ways of squeezing money out of people

You know everytime I hear a story about character sales transactions that fail it puts a smile on my face. Sorry to be crude but frankly the more often this happens the better. That whole selling of characters is just a miserable fail in my opinion and should never have been allowed or supported by CCP. Aside from the fact thats its a huge scam factory that creates thousands of "bot" accounts, it devalues those players who legitimatly earn their characters advancement through commitment and gameplay.
Sorry you get no pitty from me and I hope this post remains bumped at the top for everyone to see what can happen when you try to buy your way into a character.

Hey buddy, i would love to see your inability to enter your account with user/pass error and then patiently wait for more then 24 hours after which you get replies like yours and Thornat on forums. Then you would understand how totally inappropriate your comment is. As for Thornat, her posts ignored completely since there's nothing useful or at least smart in them at all so far. Useless and stupid. Better to ignore.
And the OP is right. You can wait for day two or three when it is something that connected to your style of play but you can't wait more then an hour or two when you can't log in to your account. 24 hours waiting time in that case is totally unacceptable.

The whole point is that this is not really a issue that needs to be addressed on the forums. Expecting things to be corrected instantly when it comes to account security isn't going to happen. It will take CCP a couple days to figure out whats going on.
And I'm a forum troll.. I dont just ignore.

1. OP got locked for EULA violations. a. (bitter EVE player answer) I'm betting somewhere along the line, he did something naughty b. (Devil's Advocate answer) OP is in a corp/alliance on that account where *someone* got caught for doing something naughty... and CCP is looking at everyone.
2. Buying a toon from someone else does not devalue the time *I* put into my toon(s), as the seller put the same time into the sale toon... yeah, tbe buyer gets "instant" SP, but the SP is not earned outside of the mechanics of the game (i.e. SP for MT).
3. old acct from '03 got passwd changed... that means a. keylogger b. acct sharing c. both =========================

Which is why i would love to be able to actually call customer support on the phone , something which you could do with blizzard, then it would get resolved right there and then as long as you scanned your photo id / cd keys and mailed it to them, yes i played wow once, but havent played for years, on top of that i know now that blizzard has invented a new system where you file a support ticket on your account management , i doesn't take them long to reply to it, i mean their whole customer service has been reworked over the last few years i know, and how i would know that, well apparently somehow some gold farmers managed to get a hold of one of my old accounts and i got some automated response from blizzard about my account being permanently banned but it all got resolved rather quickly.
Yes i know i could probally wait 2-3 days before complaining on the forum, but 24 hours should be enough to wait, even for a automated gm response that says their looking into it, but not even that.
And to the troll , well CCP made it legit to sell your characters on the bazarr , and ive sold a few there over the years, and no trouble has come with it so far, until i sold a alt to someone named "sangdo 2" , im not hanging him out here, or am i ? , my accounts went to **** after i made the sell to him, either bought my character with stolen isk or purchased isk and now im getting shafted by CCP for it.
And Velicitia , your wrong i would never buy isk, an account from 2003, really ? , something naughty , like botting , how about you look up Sir White knight anthie, getting one blue docked botter banned one by one, http://www.**********.com/showthread.php?6606-TEST/page94 should be the place for that, i hate bots and everything that comes with it, my billions of isk ive earned since 2003 comes to me legit, not like Leetcheese and hans ***gotry alt Generic Pubbiename that got banned for 14 days and the accounts put into a huge minus of billions of isks.
Now that should clear up a few things.
and thoose stars that ccp is trying to keep out would be the all famous kugut.

True, but since CCP is looking at what we do rather than what we say, it's not going to matter what we say unless an alarming amount of people actually leave the game.

Yes lets compare a company as large as Blizzard to a small(ish) company full of drunken Icelandics. Its obvious that Blizzard would be a lot quicker when it comes to dealing with issues because they have ALOT larger staff. With Blizzard you have to send a fax and/or mail with a copy of your photo ID to get your account back. Trust me it takes longer then 24h. A phone line wouldn't make sense either because talking on the phone doesn't show or prove anything.
Again wait for your petition to be answered and if its not to your liking then escalate it. No need to bring it to the forums.
Irregardless this thread will prob be locked soon stating the same information I have.
Edit: for the record CCPs customer support has actually gotten a lot better then what it use to be. Your complaining about a 24h petition, imagine waiting 3 weeks to a month for a answer.

While I can agree with much of your opinion about CCP in general, I always find this particular way of thinking to be just about as stupid as it gets.
No, sorry, you (nor I, nor any customer) do NOT pay anyone's salary at CCP, just like you don't pay the cop's salary. You pay for access to a server, under a whole host of rules, ONLY. You might argue some indirect relationship to what you pay and what salary an employee gets, but it would be so indirect as to be ridiculous, about the same as you claiming you paid for their car or the couch in their living room.
BTW, it sounds like your main has been taken over, probably by someone you shared your account info with (since you claim to be not keylogged, lol), and that CCP has frozen your other accounts while they investigate.
If you can't have patience for them to work through their process, just quit the game and let it go. Claiming the moral high ground of 'bringing to light CCP's incompetence' is almost as poor a cover for your impatience as the thin gruel of you claiming victimhood without having done anything wrong.

Spare me the outrage. A guy tried to make money buy selling an account and got screwed by the buyer in what is mostly likely a scam. This isn't a case of a guy having an issue with his account, its an issue of account theft inflicted on a guy trying to make money on a video game. The fact that CCP supports this kind of ugliness is a stain on their reputation and its what I'm speaking out against.

Thornat, you seem confused. Character transfers are paid for with Isk and a sanctioned by CCP. This is nothing to do with your personal opinion on character transfers so go troll somewhere else. |

I wish CCP had a policy of publicly setting the record straight on these threads once they were resolved. I recall once a while back when one such thread was publicly responded to and the OPs EULA violations were exposed.
Unfortunately, we're usually stuck with mysteriously disappearing OPs once the petition gets resolved.
Transparency regarding CCP errors and/or player violations would be refreshing.
I understand it has always been policy to not publish CS comms.

Eh nope, not confused, just speaking out against the policy and what better place to do it than when their is an example of its failure. I'm pretty sure I'm in the right place. Trolling does not = having an opinion and making a statement but apperantly to you it Troll = anyone who disagrees with me. Nice argument though, see you in game

The Character Bazaar could do with a significant cleanup.
I have been reducing my accounts/chars by slowly selling them off and using the ISK to fund remaining accounts with PLEX - well what else you going to do with the ISK that isn't a permaban offence mmm?
There are a lot of characters who change hands repeatedly. While some might be legit the rest surely aren't - its classic moneylaundering techniques really.
So my advice to anyone selling a character is to check every thread your buyer has been in. Oh and every bidder in those threads too. You'll see a surprising amount of the same small subset of characters changing hands multiple times a year - and even per month in some cases. Don't sell to them, or if you do then IMMEDIATELY petition CCP to verify the ISK you got is legit.
My advice to buyers is - bleh don't do it. I don't understand how anyone can be happy using someone else's old character - its like using a used condom IMHO <shudder> |

This.
Well there is an exception but its very rare. If you come across a character that was trained to be sold and has no history/standing at all - nothing, not even the tutorial agents then that might tempt me. I'm not sure though - maybe for an extremely specialised character I might but they'd have to be totally "clean" re history etc.
The idea of having old friends/enemies of the character you bought pop up all over the place is dreadful :D
