Edited by: Eve Carel on 19/08/2011 14:36:46 Hello, In lowsec (Braille), we ran incursions the last 2 days. Here's the result:
Linkage Around 300m/h. Our fleet composition was 3 Guardians, 3 Legions, 2 Lokis, a Vindicator and a Proteus (lol proteus).
I hope this proves that for Vanguards, an armor-tanked fleet is superior to any possible shield-tanked fleets.

Very impressive, but I still doubt the possibility of your fleet composition (only one battleship class vessel) to clear out an OTA in 3 min. Did you use a hacker to remove the logistic support?

armor fleets are indeed great in VG i was in a fleet once where we went against a 4 NM shield fleet and we still got the payout :)

lol, once being the key word there.
That's the luckiest string of spawns I have ever seen in vanguards. In 3 months plus I have never been that lucky, and that has included un-contested systems.
If it's true, well done, but looking at fleet comp, I have my doubts.
I have my own thoughts on how it was done.

TBH I highly doubt they'd be running OTAs that fast even with a hacker. We're talking about a site where stuff likes to spawn out at 60-70km, and the only BS there is a vindi... |

average 2,5min per site...
honestly wtf? i didn't see that anywhere and best i heard someone mentioned 9 faction bs + basilisk did sites in 3-4 minutes...
with barely t3 hulls and single faction bs dmg AND range are way smaller that of 9 faction bs'es... it is just illogical to do sites in 2,5min
without any harder proves of "armor superioty", your lp log is nothing, it can be you used 2x fleets but always made it that first fleet must win site, so second fleet was just addition of dps for better isk/h ratio to be posted here

Even with more BS's, nothing is going to clear an OTA faster than a shield fleet with nightmares and machariels. I've seen it, from both sides, how fast they can go.
Sorry OP, armor fleets are great, I fly a Legion, but shield fleets are just better. More damage mods, better speed and agility, and just better ships.

The fleet I used to run with could clear sites in about 3 minutes. 2.5 is doable, but rare. For a shield fleet. For an armor fleet, its probably impossible.

Then i really want to hear what fleet composition it was to achieve 3 min for site speed and what tactics you used :)

You focus on NCOs. If you want 2.5min you bring 3 Oneiros with remote SeBos and Legions as dps. -- IF YOU PLAY WITH SONY YOU PLAY WITH ******! |

You imply that they did OTAs. Let's say you have 5 vanguard systems in your constellation (there are indeed not many with that much) and you start right after DT. How long can you run exclusively NCOs until you run out of those sites?
LG did that before he quit EVE. He had a deal with me, I clear the OTAs and Mining sites and he gets all the NCOs. They got payed once every 3 minutes for hours. -- IF YOU PLAY WITH SONY YOU PLAY WITH ******! |

I don't get your point. They did both OTA's and NCO's. However to do an OTA in less than 3 min. with that setup is virtually impossible or EXTREMELY unlikely. Look at the times, they are down to the second. 10 pilots doing that (in an ota) is just not likely.
Now the more likely theory is you had 2 fleets, 1 which wasn't in your fleet and had them help you finish the site quicker and then split the share. It would still be 150 m isk/hour because it's lowsec. It's also adding more protection to your fleet.

Finally someone who understands. See, with high-skilled pilots and people who actually know how to do **** it's pretty easy to do such ISK/h. However, I can't say that of most people. I hand-picked my incursion pilots personally.

I've run that fleet comp (or very close) many times, and it does not clear sites this fast. Something else is going on with those numbers.

Originally by: Ammzi THEY DID OTA'S GFLDEX LOOK AT THE FREAKING LOGS.
Yes they did. There is a big difference between being able to pilot a legion with T2 guns and a legion + maxed skills. It's about 30% dps.
If you got a proper offgrid booster you can ignore all Tamas. Team Paladin finished OTAs in less then 3min before. -- IF YOU PLAY WITH SONY YOU PLAY WITH ******! |

It's not just the sites, it's running with the same people a lot, it's everyone knowing what to do rather than waiting for the FC to broadcast and tag, it's people flying their ships well rather than just being able to fly them. The best fleets hand pick their pilots, and can clear sites very fast.

TL;DR: They had three logi and therefore failed before even entering lowsec.
