I have 500 mil and I am willing to spend it on any minnie pve ship to run level 4 missions. Any suggestions?

I hear good things about the Rifter. May be slightly out your price range though.

I've actually ran a level 4 in a rifter once. So fail troll is fail.

Season tank/rigs to your tastes, add cap booster, etc. I prefer arty over AC's on the Maelstrom personally.
Or save another 200mil or so and just get a Vargur.

What about a loki? I hate the maelstrom because it just feels like a sac of **** when doing missions.

You could go Sleipnir, but again:

If you're going to drop the ISK get a Vargur.

I highly recommend the Sleipnir. It's fast, high dps, good tracking and good tank. With an afterburner you don't get bored to death flying towards an acceleration gate.

Why the sleipnir? From the looks of it a loki can do everything it does better

It really can't. The Sleipnir can project more damage further and has an insane burst tank to support it. When comparing the two with similar modules, the Sleipnir always wins for L4s.
Go ahead and try to find a fit that will compete favorably to a similar Sleip.

The Mael is your best bet, but its downside is it is a bit of an attention seeker.
If you keep a lid on the cap usage, then the Mael can tank alot of damage. Either with 1200s or 800mm ACs you should be firing as soon as you can to tank via DPS too.
Try a faction shield booster like a DG X-large booster, and/or a faction boost amp too

Sleipnir is better at running lvl 4 missions than a loki. and with the money you save on buying a sleipnir instead of a loki you could get some nice faction mods and make it even more awesome.

Being Caldari I never really considered missioning in a Minnie ship, but a Cruise Phoon ought to do well

I might have been doing it wrong, but my experience with PVE cruise missile Typhoons was not great. The split weapon system makes it hard to really excel in one area the way you can with a pure missile or gun ship. You inevitably end up being mediocre when you try to cram enough damage mods on there for your various weapon systems. With that said, I have been experimenting some with a fleet issue Typhoon for anti-Angels work. --- This doesn't even seem to be a regular case of rats fleeing the sinking ship. Seems more like the rats are on fire, the ship is on fire, and the sea is full of drunk Russians. - Jacob Etienne |

Breacher is said to be a very dependable ship, albeit held together by ducktape, it's superior sensors have have placed it among the most valued Minmatar ships when it comes to long range combat however. -----------------------------------------------

Fleet issue typhoon finishes (the ones i dont rush with a tengu before someone invariably points it out) faster than most, still slower than a mach, but the best pure Minmatar BS IMHO (besides the tribal tempest before someone points that out). . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.
