I have always subbed one month at a time, because thats how I like to do it. However I decided not to resub with the "They may implement pay to win, lets stop paying them!" thing. But CCP set my account to automatically resub. I never did as I never would.
How the hell do I get the money they stole back?
Hell, its a lucky thing I was thinking of resubbing now that it seems they have taken notice of the complaints or I never would have found out. I have paid had 3 months worth of subs stolen from me and this is ****ing wrong.
Sorry if this is a poorly worded or something but I am goddamn ****ing ****ed off by this.

Can someone dig up last week's thread about this?
tl;dr: Working as intended, read the fine print (the part where it says "You will be automatically renewed unless you indicate otherwise in account management"), yadda yadda, no one actually cares, get bent OP.

When this happened to me I just sent them an email saying that I hadn't intended for the auto re-sub to happen and that I couldn't find a way of disabling it.
They refunded the money quickly and set my account to deactivated for me so it no longer auto-subscribed.
No problems at all.

Interestingà
There has been a number of these kinds of threads in the last month. What is it that suddenly has made people not understand the meaning of ôsubscriptionö and/or ôrecurring paymentö?
I could almost kind of nearly sort of understand it if someone has never played an MMO before (aside from most subscriptions for other things working the exact same way), but EVE doesn't really strike me as a ôfirst MMOö kind of game. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

I am pretty sure it is because when CCP implemented their new account page, if your sub was cancelled, but still active, it was changed and the pending cancellation removed. Incompetence or fraud?

Also, we are not criminals. If an error happened in our billing, you will probably not be alone and you will get your money back. But the best way is to file a petition to get it investigated.
At the moment in account management has no way to cancel a subscription which is out of order.

Not knowing if OP made his own error when unsubbing, I'll just throw this out there:
Why do people continually apologize for corporations who habitually make billing errors? If billing is so prone to legitimate errors, one would expect there to be erroneous credits to one's accounts instead of only debits. But, it never works that way. Wake up people.

Although i agree with the sentiment of your post sniply because big companies that have a billing system should take more care than they do (and it's not just CCP that make mistakes), i feel i have to point out the reason you only see debits and not credits.
It's pretty simple, the whole billing system is designed to take money not give it, for them to refund money they have to do it manually, that's why it's always debits that are ****ed up, because that's the only automated part of the abilling system, if the system was designed to give out vredits automaticvally we would probably see just as many mistakes with credits as we have with debits.

That would make sense except, their billing system is designed to give game time automatically. Yet, is anyone getting free game time they didn't pay for? No.
The game is designed to give to all sorts of items in various forms. When you kill something then items drop. When you purchase something with isk, you receive an item(s). When you apply a plex you get game time. All of this is "automatic". And the system does it millions of times a day. And yet, not once do I ever remember having NPC sh*t anything they shouldn't. Neither has there ever been a lot of items I've purchased only to receive more than I should have. Nor when I've applied a plex have I ever been given 2 mos of game time by error.
I mean, if systems designed to give/take were really that prone to error, why is it the errors are always when then systems take and never when they give? The law of averages just don't agree.

There has been a case of the game giving you something when you shouldnt have been recieving it.
Look up the POS exploit!

I did. Not much detail there in how it operated or how the exploit was affected. But, I will assume that it required the user to to do "something" every time in order for the exploit to work. I'm not talking about this kind of exploit. I'm talking about random erroneous givings in which the user cannot "exploit" in order to reproduce the action on demand.
If you guys don't want to see habitual billing errors for what they are, fine. I'm not going to argue the point because I think I've made mine quite clear.
