If you get podded while wearing Nex clothing do you drop your clothes? Do they get destroyed like implants?
Or are Nex items permanent?

Perma based off of clone. Your clothes only change when you clone jump. If you die you get them back, and even dry cleaned too.

No they are the magical exception to the harsh world of eve-online, basic clothing is somehow so advanced that it never gets destroyed whilst your wearing it.
Unfortunately, they haven't found the technology to do it with real items, like deadpsace modules worth many times that of clothing.

Reason being is because you aren't actually wearing clothes while in your pod. Than again it still doesn't make sense because unless you have 1 outfit per station, clothes should be in the ship.. Either way CCP doesn't care about immersion.

I was under the impression that NeX items would be destroyed if your pod was destroyed, atleast thats what a Dev said in one post. The reasoning was that you had to put the clothing in a storage compartment in the pod. The only way to avoid such destruction is to change your clothes before you go out into the world. Unfourtunately for those who bought monacles, I believe they just lose it when they die. I can't seem to find this post though...

Also another little interesting tid bit. Aurum means Gold in latin and Nex means death. A little bit of irony for ya.

Original idea was that clothing would be destroyed but that was changed. Dev post about new NeX item mechanics:

Also, my take on this is, that the items are kept in small compartment in pod, and are destroyed, BUT you have unlimited insurance (included in purchase price) and so you get new identical set for your new clone.

This one was too good not to post on...Spaceship Barbie is banking the mortgage on your pretty dollies clothes, no way they can let you lose them now. After they have a good enough base of Elton John's in Drake's then they'll make your clothes destroyable.
