Lurking around in that dreaded Arek'jaalen intercom channel finally paid off. Oh the amount of pointless rambling and drama I've had to listen to beats any Gallentean low budget soap series. And I should know; I watch too many of those already...
Ahm, back to topic. So I noticed a call regarding the sale of a Large Crate of Archaeological Artifacts that apparently still wasn't in the possession of the research collective. Luck would have it, that I was in the region of the sale offer and, as any good State citizen would do, I immediately bought the artifacts before they were brought to an ill fate of resting on some forsaken shelf somewhere.
I might not know much about civilizations dead and gone, but I am rather an expert on starship engineering and mining equipment. I have no doubt I will be able to turn these tools into good use. Operating out of the Empire, I am unaware if the State is doing a competitive project to the Arek'jaalen. Never the less, I will most certainly report my findings to my colleagues within the Science and Trade Institute.

Jowen, I find it highly dissappointing that you would do this. I've admired some of your findings before, but this? I dont know... just seems a bit low.
You've certainly ****ed off a number of people with this, and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to listen to people crying about such matters more. I guess you had other ideas.
Gods and spirits people, why can't we put crap behind us and cooperate? --

What are you talking about? I never swore allegiance to some megalomaniactic group of scientists all running their own personal agendas. My loyalty is to the State alone.
The world of scientific knowledge is a peculiar one; what appears to be an insignificant finding for one might be a break through for another. You might derive knowledge from my findings and I from yours. It is a fair deal.

This is an ARCHAEOLOGICAL find Mr. Datloran, as a Caldari, let alone a member of the STI, I would have assumed that the importance of History would not be lost on you. I urge you to turn over the artifacts to someone, anyone, who can properly study them. |

Well done. Incidentally, I suggest you contact Miko Frunze about these - he might take a bit to reply, but it's definitely worthwhile.
Incidentally, if you don't wish to take the trouble, I'll happily buy them off of you and take care of details myself. Let me know if you so wish. - - -

Heh, good on, Datloran-haan, good on you indeed. I'm not going to be able to match any price Vikarion-haan could offer for your recent purchase, but I'd like to offer my assistance in you for any future endeavors.
Best of fortunes to you. Glad to see you again, too.

I feel fully capable of studying these items myself so have no interest in selling them on. Thanks for the offers anyhow. With the high demand on minerals and effecient mining equipment I forsee good profit in investigating these ancient mining tools. Maybe a trick or two can still be learned from the ancients.
The State has always had a strong tradition of being on the cutting edge with new technology. I intend to uphold that tradition and, of course, not let an obvious financial oppertunity pass by.

I know how this happened.
Just over a week ago, I mentioned seeing an item up for sale, that appeared on the AJ acquisition list. I mentioned this at the time in the AJ main channel.
Nothing Was Done.
A few days later, I ask if the acquisition list is current, and was told it was. I said "I see".
Nobody from AJ Acquisitions did anything.
Prior to exiting Kador region 2 days ago, I took a look and saw that the item in question was still up for sale, although the particular contract was expiring in a few hours. So I mentioned it in the AJ channel, and Capt. Datloran did something about it.
I did not know if he was acting on behalf of AJ Acquisitions or not. As it turns out, this didn't matter.
Throughout all of this, and indeed the previous few weeks, Nobody Had Done Anything about acquiring the item in question, and Nobody Had Mentioned Anything about any project proposals that may have benefited from the use of the item.
In any case, the Point of the AJ Acquisition division is to acquire odd items that people may wish to use in their research, that they cannot acquire themselves.
If Capt. Datloran is the only person who had any projects that could study the item, then AJ Acquisition would have purchased the item and given it to him anyway.
Unless AJ Acquisition is merely to collect a bunch of items for no real purpose, save as curiosities in a museum.
Is that the case here, hmmm?
In short, Complaints from AJ members are without any solid basis because: Nobody had any plans to use the items, or at least nobody had communicated any such plans. Nobody did anything to acquire the items despite it being mentioned several times. Nobody was at all upset until Capt. Datloran's post.
AJ members are making this into a drama, which is silly. _________________________________________

To be more specific, only person *****ing about it was Guthris. Datloran was the one who decided to gloat.
They're both idiots, in my opinion. Also, replacements have been found anyway. So its all pretty much moot. --

To what end, hmm? Other than to sit in the AJ Acquisition warehouse? Incidentally, the seller of the items is the same as the previous lot.
Anyway, The items do nobody any good just sitting there. People have to be doing things for the items to have any value.
It's Publish or Perish. The existence of competing research projects should act as a wakeup for AJ. _________________________________________

You know I respected you Myxx, and ive put up with a lot of **** since the start of AJ, but calling me an idiot issnt the way people act in a working enviroment. Do try to be mature about it and tell me these things to my face rather then use this pointless social media.
Edit: The decision to remove Jowen has been approved by Dr. Tukoss in a non-public mail. Just ask any of the other SEC/EC leads

You can try to remove me all you want; I was never part of your "group" and not you or anybody else can stop me from researching into this topic if I want to.
It amuses me that two obvious support groups to the main research projects think they have some sort of leading position and executive power, though their relevance to any real scientific progress are pretty non-existent. I have yet to see them produce any results on their own, for one. Keeping this deadweight around seems highly ineffective and strange for a project supposedly organized by a former State head scientist.
Bah, not my table. I will not be dragged into these mind numbing discussions anymore; I got ISK to make.

Contrary to what Mr Guthris has seen fit to make public record, I can assure you that you've not been removed from the main Arek'Jalaan channel or its mailing list. Feel free to continue your observance of discussion in there and undertake whatever actions you decide to based on information gleaned from it. Certainly if Arek'Jalaan can accomodate any and all members of the four empires, supporters of various criminal factions and even the odd Nation loyalist who support their master's pledge to destroy the project it can also accomodate you and your notions of free trade.
Good luck to you and yours in that. |

Let this case be closed. The relevant parties on our side of this know what we need. Jowen can do all of the footwork he wants on his own. --
