Is there a way to see whether a drone is damaged when it's not out in space?
I sometimes send out a flight of drones and they get shot up a bit. Rather than let them pop, I try to recover them and send out an undamaged one in it's place. But once it's recovered I can't see it's damage status, so I don't know which to launch.
Is there a way around this? I try grouping and recover/launch by group, but once I have a damaged drone in each group it starts to get complicated. Is there a way to see/show damage in space in drone bay?
TIA KB

The short answer is no.
What I do is have a group called 'Damaged', then as I recall a damaged one, I move it into the damaged group before it docks.

Yeah...that's what I've been trying to do.
Thanks KB

As long as you keep the drones inside your ship you can just use the repair shop inside the base, select the ship, select "repair all" (or however it is called) and it will repair the all damaged drones together with any damaged modules and the ship itself.
Edit: If you select the ship to repair you will be presented with a list including all modules and all drones, each with the cost to repair = it does show which drones are damaged.

If show info shows the change in hit points - that would be good.
I pretty much do as mentioned above - bringing in the damaged drone(s) separately - then assigning them to another group.
If I'm in the station and want to check to see if all my drones are good - I'll just repackage them - as the damaged ones won't repackage. I usually then just replace the damaged drones with ones that are repackaged.
If I get several damaged drones I'll fit remote hull and armor repair modules leave the station, fix them then return and repackage them to be use again later. I've often got a ship set aside for that purpose.
It may be more efficient to let the base repair them though. Depends on what else you've got to do. *shrug*
For my dedicated drone boats - I like to carry a remote armor repair module - then I can fix them during the mission. If they've taken hull damage - they get put in the "damaged" drone group and used last if I run out of other drones.
If I have multiple ships and one that doesn't have a remote armor repair module has a drone that's gotten into armor - I'll send that drone to Assist the Drone Boat - then Abandon it. The Drone Boat then does the same thing with one of it's drones while scooping the Abandoned drone from the other ship - and relaunching it to repair it as one of it's drones. The other ship scoops up the drone the Drone Boat Abandoned - and everyone's drones are repaired (as long as none of them got into structure).
You don't have to make the drone your own to repair it remotely - but with the limited range of the repair modules it's often just easier to do it that way.
If there are drones into structure I've often got spares on the Drone Boat that can replace them, taking that drone and putting it into the Drone Boats Damaged group. I can also carry repair drones. At times you can take a ship set up as an RR Logistics ship and, if it has a good drone bay, use it the same way, even if it's not really a dedicated drone boat - just as you can take a Drone Boat - and use it as an RR Logistics boat even if that's not it's prime job.
