so im like really new to overheating. i know what it does to certain mods and i know if you overheat too long the mods will burn out.
but i was wondering how long can you use overheated mods with good skills before they burn out? and if a mod fully burns out can you repair it at all? and I know t3's have a bonus to overheating as well so how are they with overheating mods?
educate this noob please

1) Download EFT, load your API and character skills, fit up a ship, right click on the green check mark next to the module (shows it active) and it will turn to a fire graphic (overheated), read time 2) Yes but only in a station. You can repair a module that has heat damage (so long as it isn't burnt out) with nanite repair paste. Just turn it off, right click the module, go to the 'repair' option. (nanite repair paste must be in your cargo hold) 3) Use EFT to model it for yourself, they overheat for quite an extended period of time.
*note* often meta 4 items can be overheated for longer than the t2 variants. *note* you can overheat a single module (eccm for instance) instead of an entire rack by clicking that different color opaque green patch right above the module. This will allow you to overheat it longer because overflow heat damage from the modules next to it aren't attributing to its heat damage.
