Edited by: Jenzelta on 23/08/2011 10:55:54 Edited by: Jenzelta on 23/08/2011 10:52:55 hey all,
I am in the final process of creating an app that allows users to see the cost effectiveness of a build job and I was wondering what you guys first impression was.
iPhone & android intended design = http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/8008/screenshot20110822at151vh.png
iPad interface = http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/4012/screenshot20110823at003.png
future features :
- Being able to pull cost details from the web
- Being able to save and load details with a project name
- Shows a ledger of total profits and history
- Salvage and rigs support
- More ideas still being thought of!
Current progress:
iPhone version Interface completed, coding 95% done just got a few bugs to iron out
iPad version Complete save for one or two formatting tweeks
Android version: Interface completed.

Ya if I owned a iPhone or iPad I would use it too. Looks good. Is it a rock? Point a Lazer at it and profit. Is it a ship? Point a Lazer at it and profit. I dont realy see any differnces here. |

Thanks! The ipad version is done and pending review by iTunes. The iPhone version is still a bit odd so I may need to reprogram it.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Are you charging for it? If so, do you have permission from the site you are pulling market data from? Did you pay the $99 (is that even in yet?)

Looks good, keep up the work! But im really going to ask the most basic essential question, what problem are you solving? At what time am i wondering what it would cost to build a certain item when im not at a computer or will have access to one in the near future? in short, why make this sort of app?
Other than that, i can definetly see the fun in making an app and how it could be challenging for some or just a project as a hobby, and it looks good. Hope it works out for ya.

I'll admit that a big reason is that I love the idea of having an app I made in the store as this is my first one,but here is where it came from,
I was just talking to a newbie in my corp and he asked me how much better it was to sell the build items as opposed to simply selling the ore, and how much profit he'd make, as I didn't know, I did a bit of calculating based on his skill and gave him the figure, I thin made a spreadsheet to do the job more efficiently, this became the prototype to this app as soon people from my Corp and allies where asking me to email the spreadsheet (which I did) anyway because I do software engineering at uni I decided to make it into an app, and here it is.
I certainly use it when deciding what to build. I hope that answers your question.
