Has anyone noticed a huge drop in server population recently? Its prime time in america right now and theres only 28,000 people on. Normally 6 months ago there would be over 40,000. Is it just me noticing this??

War on Lag, plan B: **** off a ton of people with stupid changes to the game = less people = less lag... nuff said.
What is not to understand? once EVE is just 15 people running all the remaining players (renters/pets) then the lag will be perfected to almost none as nothing will happen without a director (Herr Boss-man) telling you to run into the MG fire and that rifles and ammo will be avaliable shortly... or that if not dying for the cause you can mine in the space provided you and then donate it to the powers that be (like TARP bailouts)... you should feel at home in the "brave new order of EVE"...

Bots / RMT warriors got their skulls kicked in (in game).
CCP is damned if they do and damned if they don't with regards to reporting numbers of accounts banned for botting / RMT
Also, seriously, some people ran 6 accounts on one computer. Not feasible since Captains Quarters hiked the baseline requirements of the client.
None of those people really did anything except help themselves to ISK. Why are you so concerned? You never interacted with them.
Is Jita running with less than 300people in local? Has there been a day with zero capital ship deaths?
Nome of the above concerns are visible nor likely to occur in the next 12 months.
Would love some new content and a ton of polish added to the game in the next expansion. Reworking broken stuff *is* polish :-)

I used to log in pretty often for an hour to do a sanctum and log off, but now with anomalies being so rare, and afk cloakers and all that crap, it's just hard for me to play casually and I have to devout hours at a time, so I log in less.
The only other times I log in is for fleets.

I, seriously, haven't noticed a remarkable difference in the server population since Incarna. I regularly log all my toons and have a good idea how many players are in each of their systems on average, daily. And, I play an ungodly amount of time reaching across the three major time periods, Europe/US/Oceania, and I just can't see any remarkable difference.
Albeit, I don't play in null sec, where I understand the greatest drop in population has occurred. If that's the case, no loss to me. The loss of a lot of those people might make null sec more inviting. But, from what I've read, certain groups that play out there ensure such will never be the case.

lol @ anyone who believes that's why
CCP publicly dared people to quit the game and alot of people did. It has nothing to do with RMT at all

well its already 60,000 ppl running the rest of the population (based on there being 300k in game an the 80% number that are in high sec I keep hearing) -------- Dammit, they killed the post where Sreegs says personal attacks are against the rules. I wanted to lol at him for that |

There was no huge drop, but yes, everyone can see that the population is slightly decreasing. The real test will be this autumn when ppl will return from holidays. Ppl are frustrated about Incarana - no content expansion, about the looming prospect of P2W and the fact that for more than a year the "spaceship game" had no new spaceship content. With what is currently going on in 0.0, I guess some ppl are frustrated too and are logging in less. Eve is becoming one group rules all this spells doom for the game, especially when that one group has a large percentage of botters and RMT'ers. When 0.0 political game is killed off (and we are very close to that) we will really start seeing 28k online at peak times.

Edited by: Digital Messiah on 24/08/2011 07:42:49 They will come back when the rain comes... Long as I remember The rain been coming down. Clouds of myst'ry pouring Confusion on the ground. Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun; And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.
I went down Virginia, Seeking shelter from the storm. Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow. Five year plans and new deals, Wrapped in golden chains. And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.
Heard the singers playing, How we cheered for more. The crowd had rushed together, Trying to keep warm. Still the rain kept pouring, Falling on my ears. And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.
Seriously though, winter is coming... and with it bored people who want that fun time consuming space MMO.
