Hi guys just got me a new sparkly orca,
I have fitted 2 gang link modules
1 mining laser field enhancer and a laser optimisation .
I have promoted the Orca pilot to booster and activated the modules, But the have not effected the results of my hulks, there still taking 180 seconds per cycle and max range is still 15km
Any one have any ideas to why there's no increase.
We are fleeted and i have even tried targeting the hulks but no good.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Is the booster the Squad Leader (not the Fleet or Wing commander)?
Are you turning on the ganglinks?
And targeting Hulks makes no difference whatsoever.
Requirements for boosting: Be set as booster Have a complete command chain between you and the people you're boosting (no gaps at squad leader/wing commander) Be in space in the same system as the people under your command For ganglinks the module must be turned on

In the top of the fleet window open the menu and set the fleet as "View Hierarchy".
I use my Orca Pilot to create the fleet that way he is in the proper position already. Also What level is your leadership skill? How many Hulks in your fleet?
Try this:
Squad Commander : Orca Pilot - Hulk Pilot - Hulk Pilot - Hulk Pilot - Hauler - etc.
If you have Leadership on 1 and you have fleet setup like the example above, links will not apply. A good idea with booster ships is always train leadership to V.

Just to check...
You're promoting the Orca to booster so I guess you have a different leader therefore...
Do you have a consistent fleet hierarchy? (squad leaders with enough leadership to lead their squads, wing commanders with enough wing command...etc) While I guess that your fleet is small enough that you don't need more than squad commanders you never know and it's worth checking.
Do you have a green tick in the top of your fleet windows? If not are all of the fleet undocked and in the same system? (particularly the squad commander for example).
Is your Orca set as booster at the appropriate level? (there's no point setting the Orca as Fleet booster if you only have one squad for example). |

What is your Mining Director skill at? If its below level 2, you will not give out any bonuses for Mining Foreman link modules.

I personally prefer putting the fleet window into hierarchical view instead of the default flat view.
Valid fleets have a green checkmark ✓ in the top left corner of the fleet window for everyone in the fleet. A red X means the fleet is invalid and bonuses are not being applied.
The smallest valid fleet is two people:
* Squad Commander (SC) * Squad Member
If you have a Wing Commander (WC) you must have at least one squad commander. If you have a Fleet Commander (FC) you must have at least one Wing Commander.
The people in command positions (SC/WC/FC) MUST have to skills to command the people under them, in order for the fleet to be valid and boosts to be applied.
The squad booster by default is the SC, but it doesn't have to be. Anyone in the squad can be designated the squad booster: right-click on the SC and select "Revoke Booster", then right-click on the new booster and select "Set Squad Booster".
Boosters DO NOT need command skills unless they are in a command position. It is very rare though for a booster not to also have command skills though.
I often mine with my mining booster as a squad member. It allows me to be the SC and warp us both around, but still receive the boosts from him.

This is incorrect. You will get a 1x link multiplier at level 1, 2x at level 2, etc.

I,m not saying your wrong but I had this happen to my main industry character when he first flew the Orca. I set him to squad commander and no bonus to range or cycle time. Leveled up my mining director skill and poof, Orca gang link bonuses appear.
Mining Director: Advanced proficiency at group mining. 100% bonus to effectiveness of Mining Foreman link modules per level after level 2 is trained. Don't forget Warfare Link Specialist skill also.

100% bonus there is the key. With the skill at [1] you gain no bonus, the module simply functions at its base efficiency (2%). With the skill at [2] you gain a 100% bonus to that base efficiency or 200% of its effect and so forth.
The wording isn't perfect but it is a trickier one to phrase. --

Yes, you will, they will just be very tiny. Links get a 2% boost by default, the extra levels in director just increase that boost.
