It seems they are creating more bugs for the sake of dress up than they are fixing. UI no longer responds to warp your pod out - but we have new boots!

It's interesting that the NEX store related blog announcements don't like to a player thread for comments. I think that CCP knows they would not get a lot of good comments in there somehow...
Anyhow - the great advantage of hiring an external firm to design the clothes is that you can tell them to move on if the results are not to your satisfaction.
*disclaimer* I've not looked at the new clothes and don't plan on doing so, as all I ever get to see these days when I dock up is a very sad closed door which hides all the secrets of the universe behind it.

Im not really interested in fashions from the top designers, I just want some simple causal stuff. (Read: cheap). When do we get non-top fashions?

Yes you are right. All market data suggests that if you make a sci fi spaceship game your target market should be females.
Anyone who thinks women are going to join this game in droves because they can now dress up their avatar in virtual clothes that cost more than real clothes is a fool.
Your target, rather than real female players, would be male players who create female characters for whatever reason... of which there are hordes at EVE.
I think the idea to introduce fashion into EVE is a little silly because of the (current) gameplay and the audience. Yes, there are hordes of female characters played by boys and men (Just a glance at their local chat, their name or bio more than often reveals it) and I doubt they are interested in 'dolling' up their characters except for some ERP/drool. I've seen it so often in WoW where people just run rampant in barely anything more than a bikini and stockings, it's a horrid sight. Poor colour choices (lol). Jeez, I even tried to hide the banker or go to a deserted capital just so I wouldn't feel ashamed from putting off/on some dress/pants/top etc
It's almost as if adding fashion to a game makes it more social or engaging. Maybe we could add an EVE Laundry service aswell, so you can get in touch with a day to day routine life on a station!
I'd prefer just having a few more choices to enhance the basic character customization, there's plenty of things they can add there ~~~~~~~~~~Sade~~~~~~~~~~ *I'm a Soldier of Love, all the days in my life* |

You know, as I posted on the ideas forum, I'd perhaps be more willing to fork out 40 euros (or more) to virtual clothes if they didn't look so bland. Dull grey, dark blue and black. Occasionally army olive green and desert brown. None of these clothes look like something I'd want to wear in real life, so why would I want to use them in-game? Where's the clothing that looks like this? http://www.flickr.com/photos/eveonline/2706680341/in/photostream

That's a lot more something to wear yes ^^
Maybe a bad example, but in Star Trek Online I made several outfits that I liked a lot better: more colours, more patterns etc

I'm in line with that. How can we play Space Barbies with such sad designs? No way anybody can become the cheesiest thing in the POS with what's in store...

Well, I always roleplay female characters (well, almost, didn't did at POTBS) as, put short, provided you're going to see that avatar a gazillion times, at least make it pleasant to the eye.
So I was very excited with the NEx when it was at Sisi, and already had picked some clothes to dress my three avatars... then it went live, I saw the prices, and I was appalled beyond words. I am still, after I decided to not go into RMT and just dismiss the NEx until the prices are affordable.
Of course, this has set a trouble; by killing the NEx, CCP hasn't done anything for me in three years but F*CK me. They nerfed my loots, they moved Lvl5 to lowsec, now they add clothing games and make them ludicrously unaffordable... so, what has CCP done for me in three years? Nothing. And sooner or later I will run out of reasons to keep paying this game.

I am never on SiSi but were there any physical differences with the clothing (and maybe body/movement of the character) or just money changes that they made into live? Just curious because my character feels so clumsy, and the interface of everything inside the captain's quarters isnt very engaging either. I'd like to somewhat connect to my character, since its a little bit of me in a sense (a sci-fi/ fantasy version) So if that's sitting on a couch, reading a book on the bed (Hint there CCP), watching some player created EVE is Real trailers online or just hanging with corpies at a bar in a future update, it would just be nice to take interaction to a level where it blends with the spaceflight of EVE: Surealistic yet something identifiable
And the last things you said..I have had those issues too, but if you want to really see change or be able to voice you're not happy is to engage with the CSM, if you aren't doing that already. I personally dislike being to involved with much of the development and my likes and dislikes of the game that I just take it for what it is, and if I am not in the mood for EVE I'll just log off; the ability the train skills while offline and the very frequent updates to the game give me a reason to stay subscribed for now

I'm not "discerning" when it comes to digital clothing, lame pants, and stupid-looking monocles.
If I'm going to buy a GTC it'll go toward a Nightmare or Tengu or two... And not to digital clothes.

I love those lady boots... I already know they look sexy on a real lady. Can't wait to see what else they have in store. "Fashion-Forward" means that in the near future, you'll be able to show it off. I'm pretty freekin excited for EVE. I think all this work will pay off for CCP in 2012. Once I'm able to stalk them there hotties in the stations... there's no telling how much money I will invest on my "wall of pics" in my customized CQ. People will WANT to hang out at my CQ.. and deal drugs, pass-key data chips, and real looking slaves that can be dressed up in more crazy sexy attires.. because face it.. we're freekin crazy.. we play video games.. and well.. real life sucks ass, so this is my "escape" I would pay my entire life's savings to leave this **** war torn planet and be born in the back of a Drake to live my real life in the EVE era. Clothes and all.

Notice how these clothing announcements don't have comments anymore?
Any by the way, those pictures are the same damn clothes they released DAY ONE.
I refuse to click on the NEX store to even check the prices.

I don't mind Incarna and WiS, provided that CCP actually iterates on it and doesn't just leave us with Space Motel 8 for the next two years, and provided that they then dedicate some resources to all the other abandoned features that have actual meaningful gameplay -- Incursions, Faction Warfare (Empyrian Age), Wormholes (Apocrypha), Nullsec Sov (Dominion), Planetary Interaction/Spaceville (Tyrranis), among others.
Originally by: Zakua Corbin It's not done yet but they can crank the clothes out faster then other aspects of WIS so just dont use the crap and move on.
The sad part is that they didn't release any truly new clothes. They just recolored existing ones. CCP has a long and proud tradition of abandoning incomplete features soon after launch. Since it can take them weeks to create and texture any new model, whether it's a spaceship or a pair of boots, don't expect CCP to release truly new and interesting clothing in any quantity, especially considering that only one art team is currently working on EVE content, and it's prolly busy with establishments (assuming those ever get released, since it would be the first time in over two years that CCP actually iterated on a feature in any meaningful way).
