So i was reading the thread over at http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/18/eve-online-introduces-new-bot-reporting-feature/
And came up with a wild idea about CCP implementing a pseudo/3rd rate career in which plyer go out and hunt for botting player and CCP dishes out a reward for confirmed botting players.
This is just an idea so no flame plz. What are your thoughts on this... |

Edited by: Rina Asanari on 26/08/2011 07:30:14 I think that would be as much a "no go" as stealing ore or looting wrecks confirmed botters produce as it is, in essence, having an ingame advantage using a bot. It doesn't matter that it isn't your bot.
As it is, bots and botters are not regarded to be "part of the game", so reporting them would someone get the benefit of having them banned (rightfully so), but nothing beyond that.

BOT hunters are rumoured to get a reward allready on occasion. CCP has not said what they give though they are given something (sometimes). - Hilmar getur ekki tala= vi= ¦ig n·na, hann er a= fara f japanska tfskuverslun.

you can already petition bots ingame, rewarding players for blacking other players is never a good idea.

Edited by: Finn McCaan on 27/08/2011 21:21:56 As an alternative, after their initial ban period botting players could have their concord protection removed for a certain length of time. This lack of protection is flagged in some manner similar to criminal and bounty tags?
Second strike makes it permanent?
The reward for destroying these players is the fun of destruction. Although the idea of concord LP is appealing.

A GM UO once gave me cookies and milk for killing a speed hacker.
He was watching the guy hack, and laughed when I killed him.
