Prolonging punishment and its rewards
What is it about bounties that generally doesn't satisfy paying to 'get equal'?
An important point for consideration is that the bounty system currently allows for collusion. Experienced criminals may jump into a non-enhanced clone and have an accomplice collect.
If instead the bounty were split out over several collections, exponentially or curved with the skill points, then this could satisfy the desire for prolonged retribution.
At least for a while.

And yes, i think that means the bounty system is flawed to begin with, BECAUSE you can 'legally' have alts. ---

Edited by: ThisIsntMyMain on 29/08/2011 15:29:05 The bounty system doesn't work because ...
1. Dieing only costs the value of the ship (less insurance) and maybe some implants. 2. The bigger the bounty, the more profitable it becomes to die.
Solution ...
If we are going to have a bounty system there has to be a significant penalty that doesn't get overtaken by the value of the reward. And the only penalty that really hurts in game and can never be balanced by ISK is skillpoints......
And yes, I would pay XXX Bill to pod that c*ckS*****r who stole from my corp if he went all the way down to zero skillpoints.

You mean, for example, every 10 Isk placed on you as a bounty is worth 1 skill point lost if you're podded, with a maximum of, say 10% total skillpoints allowed to be lost (max bounty equal to your skill points)?
Numbers could be adjusted... 5% max skillpoints, etc.
Monocles are so two weeks ago.
