Me and a mate where planning on heading down to nullsec for a while to see if we can find some stuff to blow up. What kind of ships would a stealthbomber duo be able to attack ? We are going to use the nemesis.
What kind of tank does one fit to a stealth bomber ? What do you use all the mids for ? (other than tackle + Prop)
Thanks for any feedback. I've not flown covert ops ships before so have little experience.

Good day:
If Grifthin is your main, you don't seem to have a pvp record. In that case, I would suggest low security space pvp in some t1 frigates until you get the hang of the mechanics.
SB's are fragile ships.
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1202308 is an excellent guide if you are dead set on using an sb.
Thank you.

That guide seems mostly geared to solo null sec though.

torps do amazing dmg, don't discount them...
sb's are usefull in low and null, best in null imo cause its easier to catch ppl off guard -- "i will do anything and look like ten shades of loser for her. If that isnt manning up.. I dont know what is." -TheDarkness Incarnate (beta male) |

A SB's intended targets are large ships. Battleships, industrials, miners, freighters, things like that. It can be fit to do a ton of damage, both high alpha and high dps, or hit from over 100km. But that fit can seriously gimp your dps, and untackled targets will get away.
What to put in mids besides tackle and prop? EWAR of course. If you plan on using T2 launchers and Rage torpedos, you will want 1 target painter somewhere in your fleet. This will enable Rage torps to do max damage to non-MWD/ABing battleships. Any target velocity above about 100m/s will reduce the effective damage of Rage torpedos. If you can't use T2 launchers, go with Arbalest launchers and faction ammo.
You don't really tank stealth bombers. Make them fast and nimble. Your strengths are prior planning, covert cloak, and high damage. They have a fairly long recloak delay, meaning once you decloak you will most likely get targeted before you can recloak again. So be prepared to warp out. Set-up 30km bombing bookmarks on likely targets such as gates and jump bridges with warp out points straight ahead. Nanofibers are your friend for faster aligns without adding to your signature radius. (Don't use Inertial Stabilizers! They enlarge your signature radius thus causing you to get locked faster and take more damage.)
Since you have indicated that there will be multiple players in your SB fleet, you should consider fitting a Remote Sensor Dampener on each bomber. These give you a couple choices. You can go for range dampening and then kite outside the target's range. Or you can go for scan res dampening. Two scripted damps will drop a target's scan res or range to about 1/3 of its normal amount. 3 (with the same script) is optimal due to stacking penalties.
Since battleships (the best target for bombers) tend to have very long lock ranges and very poor scan resolutions, I would recommend scan res dampening. With 2 bombers, you should be able to kill the target before he can lock anyone. Even then, by that time he should almost be dead. Any incoming dps will be sufficiently mitigated by your speed and small size.
A bomber's worst enemy is drones. Admittedly, if your target never locks you and his drones are not set to aggressive or not deployed when you attack, you won't have to worry about it. But due to this threat, many pilots like to fit a medium shield extender so as to provide a sufficient buffer for tanking drones until the target is destroyed. Afterwards, you get the bonus loot of a flight of T2 drones.
Also pay attention to what your potential target is doing. If they are shooting rats, check the type of rat. He should be tanked for them, meaning he may have a large resist hole that can be exploited.
Each bomber gets bonuses to it's racial damage type. Always use the torpedos that match its damage bonus. For Nemesis that would be thermal. Which bomb you use is not as important, so long as everyone is using the same bombs. They are resistant to their own damage type so that they do not blow up other bombs that are launched at the same time. They also take up a ****-ton of cargo space. You will only be able to fit 2 in your launcher and 1 or 2 in your cargo.
In short, select your targets carefully. Engage only when you have the advantage. bombers are paper thin. They tend not to tank well. But if you can engage when your dps is most effective and you target is least expecting it, you will win.
Or you can do like Snot Shot does and ***** killmails with a TP on the 0.0 side of a low-sec gate. "The Lord loosed upon them his fierce anger All of his fury and rage missiles." - The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 10:1 amended
