The Complete Unknown is a work in progress guide to hopefully answer most of the questions there are about wormhole space, and will be expanded to cover many other aspects of inter-linked EVE gameplay as well.
This guide has taken several months to turn from a collection of ideas to a fully edited .PDF, complete with excellent artwork for the cover.
Lorkin Desal
It features one of the most up to date and current collections of material on w-space, and is scheduled for an update next month to include an in-depth section on T3 production, complete with original diagrams. Also to be included is a chapter on Arek'Jaalan and the new live events CCP have organized to iterate on wormholes.
If you have any thoughts about somthing that could be added to the guide, or a section with missing information, or there is a mistake you notice You can EVE-mail me. I am also available for comment on any wormhole questions that you have, and hang out in the "wspace colonists" channel, when online.
If you feel in a generous mood, ISK dontaions can be sent directly to myself, "Lorkin Desal". There will be no compulsory fee for this guide, ever, and any websites that claim to be allowed to host this guide may not, under any circumstancees, do so.
Currently, only PodGoo.com has the right to host this guide for use of the public, but of course downloading for personal use is not only allowed, but encouraged.

You might want to read the thread he provided a link his second post as eve-files aren't working.

You might want to read the post you are quoting. Link would not work EVEN IF EVE-FILES WERE WORKING because OP link is broken.
eve-files might be up in 2 hours, but OP link would still not work because it is broken.
Fixed :)

Sigh... I remember how much fun W-Space was when people actually didn't know how it worked. Those first couple months were awesome.
Me and my W-Space corp made it a rule to never read up on any guides about W-Space and we learned everything we knew by experiencing it.

Starting to read through... this jumped out at me quickly...
Quote: Core scanning probes will not detect drones, ships or structures, but thatĘs ok as we looked at directional scan when we entered this system to make sure it was unoccupied, right?
No, no it isn't ok actually. Dscan give you a bit over 14AU range, many systems are considerably larger than that. At minimum, if nothing is on dscan I'd recommend dropping a single combat where you are and extending it to max range. If you cover all the planets, perfect, if not you should move it a bit so you will. Scanning with that one combat will tell you if there are ships out of range you can't see from your current position.
Personally, I go solely with combats when scanning. There are very few things I can't lock with them, and if there's something I really want (radar, etc.) I'll switch to cores after I've finished scanning everything else and have the IDs of the specific things I want. Nice thing with scanning with combats... those moments when you say "Hey, where'd that ship come from?"
Monocles are so two weeks ago.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I want to move into WH space or null space, however, I know absolutely nothing about what it's like. I'm sure there must be lots more of players like me out there and I'm sure this will be a huge hit. Is it true that you can make a lots of isk in a WH? more than in null sec? What about if you don't mine ? Are there rats to kill like there is at the belts in regular systems? Because you could make isk doing that too right? And what about buying stuff on the market ? Do you have to get someone to go and get it? And how do you park your ships when you log off? Are there docking stations? I am downloading it and will be reading it a lot. Thanks again Amar

I'm pretty sure that no TCU's are mentioned in the guide, excepting the small picture of one on the cover. (which is in the null sec system that we have just emerged in to, and therefore fine).
On a totally diffrent note, I have previously encountered an alliance trying to place a TCU in w-space.. Needless to say, their effort was "sabotaged".

I've seen it used as bait, players see it on overview, warp to it, end up getting stuck in bubbles and pewpewed

It's also used as a way of staking a claim to a system. It doesn't do anything, but it's a big flag saying "We are here" -

Indeed, multiple errors have been pointed out to me and are in the process of being fixed. I anticipate a new version going live in approx a week, with the launch of the new forums.

As someone who has only ever entered one wormhole for about 5 minutes I can honestly say this guide looks excellent.
Not that I'll now rush to a wormhole. I find the idea of sitting in one boring, I hate scanning and cornholes seem to be the domain of farmers, intent only on making isk from those oh so precious melted nanoribbons.
Thanks though!

Just to let you all know I took a couple of days off. I'm working hard on correcting the various errors and adding new content, and a (hopefully) error free guide will make it in to the OP at the beginning of next week. :)

Edited by: Cpt Syrinx on 04/09/2011 12:15:40 Its a nice guide, but at times I find it lacking certain logic to its composition. It reads more like prose than a reference work, which could impact its usability after the first read, or new players attempting to assimilate all the information.
As an example, you discuss jumping mechanics (aggro, timers) of wormholes at the start of section 2, but the importance of ship mass is not discussed until the paragraph headed "collapsing a wormhole", starting out with reasons to do it on purpose. I would suggest including the mass properties, i.e. all properties of wormholes shortly in the beginning of the section, and maybe number your paragraphs as well as the sections.
I'm afraid I don't have the time to be more thorough, nor am I an expert on w-space, but I would suggest considering your text composition in terms of its intended purpose a bit more.

Eve might be dying but it won't actually die for a long time to come.
You can prop up any failing mmo with continued money grabs that attract the lowest common denominator.
Remember that even the cheesiest korean 'free to play' game makes tons more money than eve.
