Hey guys I wasn't sure, but I felt that this forum was the best suited for my question:
What is the fastest way to boost one's sec standing in Empire? I need it in order to do bad things.
Mind you, I don't have a lot of capital and can't fly anything bigger than a cruiser. Mission impossible?

*Edit: Typically they'll have stations where you can buy a Cruiser and fittings. Cruisers are fine for ratting NPC battleships. ----------- |

Thank you for your input. I prefer to not have to leave the safety of HiSec, because I'm a coward (and lazy too) :) LoSec might be okay, though..

I know a great way, but I don't give it away for free. 500 M isk for the secret to getting sec status while AFK all day, legally without botting.
But in the mean time, heres a little thing you can do to get a point or two on the quick:
Get 4-5 level 4's as close together in space as you can, preferably 1 in every system in a 4 system loop with adjoining systems. No, I dont think it is possible/nor do I know where this fabled empire space is-get close as you can to what I have described. Now start the missions and get battleships deployed in the missions. Go to each system and kill only 1 BS before going to the next one etc. This should yield you a point every 3-4 hours or so depending.
Best of luck and hope this helped. Things to remember-you can only get 1 security 'tic' per 15 minutes per separate system-UNLESS you are able to get three sec tics cached in which case it will force the updates faster. D3

If I was you I'd keep quiet about that or they will nerf it, its not exactly hard to figure out either since there is only 1 explanation. |

Not all battleship rats in mission space will actually apply for a sec status update. No, I really have no idea why. Ones that are more likely to:
- Angels - Guristas - Serpentis - Sansha
Usually never: - Blood raiders - EoM - Mordu - Thukker
Never by design: - Drones - Faction ships - etc
Two ways I do it if I'm in Empire: - Scan mission runners down, pop a battleship, change system, repeat. With practice, this will equal 0.0 ratting (scaning down a mission takes about the same time as finding a BS spawn) - Incursions. In particular, OTA farming, as the Deltoles give something near to a 0.25% bump. Do an OTA in one system, swap to the other Vanguard system, run another, return. You can usually do 3 or 4 per sec tick, and you'll be making quite a bit of ISK, too. -------

Edited by: Angelina Grace on 01/09/2011 11:25:08 Lady, that's a great idea. I'll get to annoy someone, train scanning skills, earn a little isk AND boost my sec standing at the same time. Four things at once. Eat your heart out, Kinder Egg. I suspect Darius' post was secretly brilliant, but I'm not clever enough to completely figure it out. Thanks to you all regardless :)
Also, Yumad Bro, I was totally dazzled by your original, non-cliche, meme-inspiring name, so yes, I'll come over for a drink. No naddy ice for me, though, as I don't know what that is but it sounds a little naughty and I'm a good girl.
EDIT: Gotta ask, what is OTA farming?

You don't actually need to pop a ship yourself for this to work. If you fit a target painter and activate it for a cycle on a battleship, you get the sec boost when the mission runner pops it. Means you can grind sec in a cheap frig rather than having to run around in a mission fit BS.

So I scan down the mission, warp in and paint each rat BS (just for good measure) for one cycle, then warp out, jump to a new system and repeat, and that will boost?

You must be in system when it dies, but not on grid. If you jump to a new system before the Rat BS dies you will not get credit.

NPCs like eom, mercs and drones do not give SS bonus Some missions do not give SS bonus at all - for example vengeance and worlds collide. Best missions to get SS are Recon 1/3, Pirate invasion, Assault, Cargo delivery, extravaganzas and blockades. On the good side you get 1 SS tick per system per 15 minutes PER npc type. So if you kill Blood, Sansha, Guristas and Serpentis BS in 1 system in 15 minutes you'll get 4 ticks.

Why do people always say 15 minutes when it has always, always and always been 10 minutes per sec gain +plus the time it takes to kill the next npc. So if you waited the 10 mins for the first npc to give you a gain before you started to kill the next one, that would be why it takes longer than 10 minutes for the next sec gain. |
