Edited by: Jitas Prostitute on 31/08/2011 18:47:34 I keep hearing minmatar is the best and galente sucks.
why do you think so?
personally i like minmatar because of style also cause of fast pvp ships -- "i will do anything and look like ten shades of loser for her. If that isnt manning up.. I dont know what is." -TheDarkness Incarnate (beta male) |

720mm have awesome alpha, AC's tracking is most excellent, mid and long ranged ammos are tracking bonused on top of that, Fitting issues are seldom heard of, Very little concern for the state of the capacitor, Best agility..

This guys clueless.....
They dont get a tracking bonus with long range ammo, it gets a tracking penalty. Minnie have cpu issues on many ships but since they are so good in the first place a co-pro never goes amis, the vagabond is hard to fit without AWU and implant.
Porbably a lot of other **** i cant be aresed typing.

Actually T1 ammo gets a bonus, T2 ammo gets a penalty. Having said that, T1 long range ammo is utter ****. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

Yes Matars ships are the best in 90% of cases but that doesn't mean other races doesn't have good ships also. Arazu, Pilgrim, Ishtar, Tengu, Myrmidon are great PvP ships.
Minmatar ships strenght lay in that they can be fitted in many ways ( armor/shield Cane ) have a great falloff and are fast and that make them perfect option for solo PvP.

Minmatar ships have the best speed, very good damage, okay range and can often fit the highest tier guns with fitting left over for utility mods (neuts for example). They pretty much have the perfect combination of stats for solo or very small gangs. Plus they work well in bigger gangs because of the ridiculously high alpha on artillery.
It's not so much minmatar being overpowered as gallente and caldari blaster boats being kinda weak. Giving caldari and gallente a bit of extra fitting would do so much to balance the game.. but yeah, not likely to happen anytime soon.

Stuck up your own ass much?
Minmatar takes just as much piloting skills as Gallente, it's a matter of what you can and can't engage. It has everything to do with ship's capabilities and nothing to do with it being easier or harder to pilot, don't be stupid. Better isn't easier, it's better in the right hands.

Edited by: ValentinaDLM on 01/09/2011 13:40:25 Matari ships and Angel cartel ships are in my view overpowered in certain cases. It isn't however as simple as saying the whole race is overpowered.
For frigates, it is very hard to say that the rifter isn't the best, in the vast majority of circumstances. The Republic Fleet Firetail however, I feel is in line with the other faction frigates, not overpowered at all.
For cruisers while the ruppy is very good, the stabber's cap problems make it not so good. You would be hard pressed though to say that a ruppy is just outright better than a vexor, arbitrator, maller, etc.
I could go on, minmatar is frustrating, but not really very overpowered as a whole, Angel Cartel ships on the other hand I feel are overpowered, as I just don't see a phantasm for example even being close to a cynabal in PVP, and the ship doesn't really have a PVE role either. Honestly though, nerf the dram and give the phantasm it's missing slot, give the ishtar more CPU, and I would be happy with things.

simma down naw. of course skills of the pilot play the biggest part however the easiest races are the ones that take the least amount of time to train the sp needed to fly them decently. also speed + shields give a very big advantage in eve these days increasing the survivability of the pilot. if you are armor and slow usually you either win or die. i could be the best eve pilot around and own everyone with a gallente ship but an average pilot will exceed the most with the 2 easiest races.

And the pendulum swings...
how many people remember the threadnaughts before the projectile changes? It seemed every other post in here was on how Amarr were OMGWTFOP!!!1!!11 and minmatar were about as useful as a Deimos has ever been. Doing missions in a Mael?? Lol noob get a raven was the standard response.
Its also a lot to do with modern PvP. If you're solo its expected that everyone and their shuttles will have backup > 30 secs away. In that situation it pays to have a GTFO button.
TL:DR Min are on top for 18 months, next year it will be someone else. Crosstrain

So what you're saying is, it's easier to use a kiting setup with minimum HP that requires spatial awareness and almost constant heat management of your MWD and warp disruptor than it is to hit keep at range 500m, maybe slingshot in if necessary and just let your ship do the work. As for SP, Minmatar take as much if not more SP than Gallente. This is your issue, you think that flying a ship that's severely underpowered is hard while in reality it's just limiting your options. Gallente isn't harder than Minmatar, actually when comparing it to Minmatar speed setups, Gallente is the straight up easy one to fly.

Minmatar suck because their guns don't even use capacitor and their speed only helps them rush to their own demise!
