Since updating the client to 1.1, whenever i run eve the screen dims down even though i have it set to max brightness. As soon as i close the client the screen returns to full brightness.
Until this is fixed its very hard to play on eve

Everytime I start the client I get a pop up asking to install Incursion 1.1 client update #1
If I hit OK, it says unable to install (It never really even downloads)
Then it lets me login into game normally.

First time this happened to me - whenever i clicked 'ok' to download the new update, the client would freeze and I would have to reboot. However, i tried closing the update prompt box which caused the patcher to start working.

Mac Intel, download the first patch, reboot, download the second patch, tried to log-in but at the end of PREPARING DATA bar nothing happen, tried many times allways the same. Use the EVE Online repair tool all the fixing stuff was done, tried to restart the client and a black screen appear. Now I'm reinstalling a brand new client. I wish that work. I'm very sad about that.

Even me, I reinstalled the client but the same thing happens at the end of the sliding PREPARING DATA screen freezes and I have to force quit, I tried to reset the cache but still nothing happens. Before everything worked well, there really need to update this again.

Previously .. (I can't ever say that these days without wanting to end it 'on lost') ... prior to 1.1 I had strange issues with graphics lag where the FPS monitor would show uniform saw tooth readings and the game would surge and lag once a second. This would clear after about 10 minutes.
Since 1.1 - this has vanished ... awesome.
The UI and menus appeared a bit more laggy than usual when I fired the game up - but that seemed to clear after a while.
I then got my arse handed to me by by CEO during a frigate league match. I tried to blame it on Incarna 1.1 .. but but nobody would buy it.
Good job.

Okay, so I install the patch and now the game will not boot. It remains on a black screen and does not load up.

I'm getting the same black screen as the guy above and the only way I can exit is a force quit.

I get this fukken error so many times after a patch is deployed and yes I have done ALL of the chmod +x and 755 on cider, wineserver, etc. The patch seems to be bombing when it's validating the checksum of the localization files? Any ideas would be most excellent - thanks!

Been so long since a patch I had almost forgotten how Mac unfriendly these "updates" are. Once again the install fails with a message during the update indicating that files have been modified and I need to re-install. What the hell do I do? Where is the link to the repair tool? |

Edited by: Trebor Daehdoow on 02/09/2011 01:36:25 I am getting horribly inconsistent frame rates. On the login page, the ship animation starts out at about 2 fps, gets reasonable during the broadsides, then goes horrible again. However, the second time through the animation, it's reasonable.
After logging in, during the warp back to where I logged out from, again <2 fps. When I get to the POS, it seems to be OK again.
This is with a top-of-the-line Macbook Pro running 10.6.8 with tons of memory, a SSD hard drive (!), and medium-low graphics settings. It's a significant change compared to before the patch.

+1. Except I am running a MacPro with 2 Quad-Core Xeon's and a Radeon 4870. I guess I will go ahead and buy a windows box just for EVE :-(

When I launch the client it states that the update download is complete and the client needs to be updated. Go through with the process and every time the program launches it repeats the same update process.

I started a new thread on the forum before finding this thread, but here is my original post:
I can't seem to get the newest patch to load. I downloaded the new patch from the title screen and it closes out of the game to start the patch. The patch starts running through the file verification process and when it gets to the end the patch stops and says "Some of the files have been modified."
I clicked on the logs and found that all but one of the files were listed as OK. The following listing was in red:
Examining File : /Contents/Frameworks/wineserver -> SHA1 Error
I then tried downloading the patch manually from the Eve site and got the same error on the same file.
I find this annoying because it seems to me that everyone else on the forum had a successful download. I wonder why I am so special.
Any help would be appreciated. I am a bit of a noob and I have basic skills to train. I am wasting valuable skill training time!

WRT today's #2 client update, I was getting repeated update failures.
Then I thought to let the splash screen animation play completely through (so that it wasn't stuttering, but playing smoothly, as it does the second time around) and *then* click the button to download and install the update.
This time the update worked properly. I would appreciate it if other people would check on this and see if is consistent.

I didn't get the update issue, but I definfinitly have the log in screen stuttering (low FPS).

Edit: Frame rate drops from 60 to 6 when the ship goes in front of the sun, then back up as it exposes it again.
Maybe, if your machine had a better processor, more ram and maybe a better video card you wouldn't have the FPS issues. EvE does have a minimum configuration you know
:)
On a more serious note, if your machine can run anything else under the sun very well, you wouldn't think EvE would be this big a problem HUH??

Mac Pro 1.1 12 GB RAM ATI Radeon 4870
Graphics Settings to "Performance"
1. When logging in, the intro animation FPS drops through the floor (2-3 FPS) and trying to type in my password is affected by the FPS? I type close to 90wpm, and I know my password, which should take less than two seconds to type, character response is literally 1:1 with the FPS.
FWIW, when the request came out to do Mac Sisi testing a couple weeks ago, I couldn't for the life of me get a Mac sisi connection, after a couple hours of trying.
I haven't turned CQ back on yet, I will test FPS in space first as that's what matters to me...

My guess is that your situation was happy coincidence.
I was trying and retrying for about half an hour: the download would stop somewhere between 0 and 99.9% with a message along the lines of "Client Update Failed". I would then open the ESC menu and try to install the client update from there. Wash, rinse, repeat. There was no correlation between amount of animation on the screen versus when the update would fail.
Note that for me, the process of downloading the 5MB update took longer than it normally takes the Maller to warp onscreen and get to the point where it's firing all its lasers.
This was on my 11" MBA w/GeForce 320M. My 17" iMac Core 2 Duo w/X1600 applied the update on the first attempt and has never failed (yes, it's unsupported hardware).

I too have been getting the insane low fps while on the login / character selection screens + while loading space and warping into a POS. After this it seems to go back to normal.
