Ive got my drones in my Hulk on aggressive but when a belt rat warps in, he can happily pop the drones to hit programming's content cause they wont aggress him and fire back unless I target him and tell them to -------- CCP knows better than the players whats good for their game. SOE knew what was best for SWG too. Better than all those players that left too. |

I believe this is simply because they aren't viewed as hostile till they attack YOU, not your drones.
Its to do with how the game determines if a character is hostile or not. After all, if concord warped in cos someone tried to gank you, you wouldn't want your drones going after concord would you? Same with friendly faction rats outside of station e.t.c. -The sword is only as sharp as the one who wields it. Drenzul (My normal internet tag) |

It has been that way for a very long time, not sure they ever worked like you are describing.
And; You fit a hulk to tank the rats anyways. NPC's tend to target drones if they are out so better to leave them in till needed. Consider the rats a good wake up reminder |

Edited by: Mr Kidd on 02/09/2011 14:32:50 As I understand it the circumstance for drones to attack a ship that attacks you is:
Drones must be out and deployed. Anything that attacks you then should make your drones respond.
However, drone aggression does not include the drones being aggressed themselves. Nor does it include you being attacked, then deploying drones. So, if the rat's first action is to attack the drones, well then, you're F'ed.
But I could be wrong.

Was only trying to help. Instead of hemorrhaging stupidity on the forums you might like to learn how this game you seem to hate so much actually works.

As stated above, drones will only attack an enemy if it attacks you. However, if the enemy attacks your drones, only the drones being attacked will fight back, so against frigates, they should survive...

That's exactly how drones work. However, my sentry II seem to aggress what is attacking them and will switch to the more hostile npc unless I set them in passive mode. //Waiting for sub to end, not even motivated to log in and change training queue |
