Personally I will not buy anything until the prices come down(alot) and we can actually walk around and interact with other players. It is stupid to pay outrageous prices for virtual goods only I can see. How about you? How do you feel about this and have you bought anything from the Nex?

I don't really care about the price, even the damned monocle seems cheap enough, but there was nothing in there that I would WANT to buy. So, no, I didn't buy anything from it, nor from the market using ISK. _

I used the free AUR we got on an alt, bought the boots and shipped them to my main. So I guess I technically haven't bought anything yet. If I see something that might entice me and the price is something I can afford, then I might also buy said item. If I don't then no biggie.
It is just a game.

No, and I won't because I don't subscribe to Dolls Online. But frankly, I think you have it backwards. The prices aren't high enough.
What's the point of buying something that sets you apart if everyone can get it fairly easily. So far, the monocles are the most expensive item and look at how many people have them. Kinda makes the monocles not all that special.
So, folks must not be buying them to set themselves apart (at least not anymore) but because they think it looks cool and they can afford it.
I think if CCP wants to sell a lot of NeX items to the latter sort of folk then prices are about fine or could come down some. But if CCP wants to sell to the folk who want to set themselves apart, prices on at least some items need to be much much higher. The monocle, for this purpose, is far too cheap.
Whether or not you personally buy NeX items or see them as set at reasonable prices is completely irrelevant.
Still wish I could buy bug fixes in the NeX though.. especially to make my drones behave for once.

Yes. Several outfits for my main and my alts.
For myself I can piece together about six differently themed outfits from the current NEX-offerings, and I hope we'll get more accessoires in the future.
But then I'm a hedonist and a narciss.
I feel the prices are steep, but any lower and there wouldn't be any exclusiveness. What CCP fails to deliver is some massmarket ware.

What's NEX?
Oh right, it's that thing everyone's whining about like little children, yeah...couldn't care less about it, it's there, doesn't hurt me being there, doesn't get in the way of my gaming, and won't.

I have not. And I won't until they price this stuff in a SANE matter. I mean really, you want to charge money for cloths that don't even (physically) exist. I mean what the heck, did CCP get shafted by over paying on some commissioned fashion designs or what? The higher path is not one with more weaponry, but one with the will to not use them.

You mean, support CCP in developing more stuff that we have to pay for to get, instead of developing stuff we actually want? You know, things like expansions that actually have something to do with spaceships.

No, and who knows if there will ever be a multi-player environment in stations at this point. There is absolutely no communication about it, and that is never a good sign...
Maybe another Ambulation/Walking in Stations/Incarna scrap and overhaul is in progress? The next version will be "Capsulation" so that it pleases everyone. You can fly around the huge stations in your pod...

you mean Entity does more than just collect items!?!??
:boggles the mind:
For serious post: I haven't bought anything from the NEX. If the prices were cheaper, or if we actually had a way to interact and see other players in Incarna, then maybe.
As they are now, there really is no point to the NEX besides giving CCP money. ----------

It's too bad they already used Exodus for an expansion because at the moment it would be appropriate for the next one. Something is very wrong with your direction when avid collectors like Entity don't want anything to do with it.
Haven't touched nex, don't plan on it either. For the mr.man who loves my sig so much perhaps you should understand it is sarcasm and reflects the initial nex launch and how stupid the concepts coming out are.

I bought something for my toons and my wife. I quite enjoyed purchasing the monocle, literally.
I flew a republic fleet firetail 14 jumps through lolsec with 1.3 billion in sleeper loot to purchase the monocle. I could have easily closed the hole and looked for one closer to hisec, but where would be the fun in that? I especially enjoyed doing it in the firetail because I had just been told on the forums how stupid I was for spending LP on a firetail.
I enjoyed taking a huge needless risk, and I enjoyed knowing that I was supporting CCP (well once I succeeded and turned the isk to plex to aur). I also quite enjoyed the 'online date' we had when we picked up her goggles and put them on. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

No, and I don't intend to either. My reasoning is that it just seems somehow disloyal to the identity of eve online the player-driven economic sandbox (that was) to support an immersion-breaking company store that short-circuits player industry so obviously for rl cash.
Add to that my strong (personal) suspicion that artist salaries are going towards NeX content that should in my view be spent on hiring Eve spaceship artists (cyno, engine trails, missile launcher graphics, pos renewal etc.) Supporting Nex is (again in my personal view) simply encouraging CCP down the wrong path and I think the best thing for Eve Online's future health and success is that the NeX experiment dies unlamented and gets quietly removed from the game.
Any future content that is ear-marked for delivery by NeX just feels like its spoiling the game from my viewpoint. I would prefer all content to come via traditional means (bpos, bpcs, lp stores etc) and be available for players to buy with their in-game currency without breaking their suspension of disbelief and reminding them (too firmly) that Eve players are viewed as cash-cows by the money men.
I feel strongly that the hybrid model (subsciptions + microtransactions) is utterly wrong for Eve Online and I'd like to see the developers make a firm and principled choice between subscription and microtransactions.
Imagine for a moment if NeX didn't exist and they'd delivered these clothings and goggles and things in the form of bpos/invention product/lp - then we'd be happy to see the "nightstalker goggles" having in game effects and actually doing something that made them worth having.
Screw vanity for its own sake.
This is a spaceship game. Things should have an impact on the game.

Great post, but can I add, I wouldn't even mind if the goggles were vanity only, provided they were made as you stated above. ______
