I do have facebook, and once upon a time would have participated for the sake of it, but there's too much bad taste in my mouth to do anything to promote M/T or CCP atm. ______

Many likes get sorted out for click farming. If those removed clicks are legitimate ones or actual bots is for you and your paranoia level to decide. --------

I 'like' on eveisreal occasionally, but I also sort through my likes regularly, so maybe half off my clicks still exist.
All in all I have next to no gaming friends, so I sort very carefully what to publish, and what not to, there are some really weird things on eveisreal - I get occasional awes towards EVE graphics, though... |

Since CCP can and has arbitrarily decide that the number is not correct and reset it to values of their liking, what is the point?
Besides, the interface is so bad I stopped looking at the site since the images are being mangled in some way to make them all but unreadable. Only the most basic stuff is visible, forget about any text. Also there's no easy way to find stuff again if you find something nice, so if you find something and don't immediately like it it's lost.
Initially I made a facebook spam account just to annoy CCP with random "like"s, but then I decided "why bother? It's effort for something I don't really want".

I share your pain. I more or less hope nobody remembers my campaigning for this game in my social circles, it would be embarrassing that they got to see EVE in its current shape.
Fortunately enough, I gave a long look at the "eve is real" site before advertising it. That saved me much embarrassment.
All in all I wonder what happened to the MMORPG I used to be proud of.

Strange. I recently brought 2 long-time real life friends into eve a few days ago. So far they are having a blast pewpewing in rifters and trying to make sense of the eve universe. Maybe you are projecting your dislikes onto everyone else? What exactly about eveisreal.net, NEX store, Vampire MMO, or Incarna is preventing people from playing the game as they always have?
Are people just herd QQers?

I haven't used it, but do you just like the site overall (so 1 like represents one person), or can multiple likes be had by the same person. If so that puts the active number of users at less than the op's number...... ______

As far as I can tell, each submitted ôitemö on the site can be liked ù every video, image, text snippet ù and you can do that once for every item for every personà
àand the whole point is to draw in people who aren't playing EVE and having them like (and get a trial from) the site as well.
So those 13k likes represent far fewer people, and there is nothing to say that those people are even EVE players. By the looks of it, there are some 2500 submissions on the site so there could be as few as literally tens of peopleà Granted, many of those submissions haven't received any likes at all, and for that double-digit number of people scenario, each person would had to have go through and like each item once ù that obviously didn't happen. At any rate, 10 people bots total is about as likely a scenario is it being 13k people. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

The 'EVE is Real' site became dead to me the minute CCP attached Aurum to it. I wont participate in anything that in any way shape or form promotes the Nex store.
A job well done to the marketing people, you have made me dislike the Nex store that much.

I don't promote anything what is linked to facebook.
Hilmar should go down with Facebook and Twitter when the bubble bursts. --- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |

The bubble has already burst.
Once an mmo goes into active sub decline its just a matter of time before it goes belly up.
Why the hell do you think ccp is grabbing as much money as it can?

CCP may go belly up with Hilmar but I don't believe that it will be end of EvE. Just gotta hope that the next owner knows how to take better care of their milch cows.
I re-evaluated my support to CCP again and changed even my last monthly euro subscription to isk funded plex subscription. No more euros for you.
It is really difficult to keep supporting company with such horrible leadership. In my eyes there has not been anything but downhill since nex.
Last year I was really eager to hear about long term future plans, but nowdays I believe that it is better I don't even know. Keeps me happier. Reading any interview by Hilmar or Soundwave causes mostly annoyance and amusement about how these guys can still be in charge.
Vampires and dust... yes there is very little you can do to fix those unless CCP goes belly up or finds some 3rd party to buy at least another of the projects off from their hands. Icelands banks needed bailout pagage - wouldn't be supriced if CCP is soon to follow.
End of rant --- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |
