Basically this is a ship that is half industrial hauler, half destroyer combat ship. It will have larger cargo capacity but not as large as an industrial. It will be more agile and faster than an Industrial and at the same time be able to field some guns and defensive modules. I'm thinking it would use both Industrial skill and Destroyer skill.
Destroyer: 5% turret damage per level.
Industrial: 5% cargo capacity per level.
What do you guys think? Ideas on this topic?

I'd call that more of a ship designed to use cap boosters then a hauler hybrid TBH.

^ Basically this. There's no role for a hybrid combat/hauler ship.

I don't really see the point of this ship either. If you want a ship that has a 'fighting chance' if it gets caught in a gatecamp, this wouldn't be it, as it would always have to be inferior to pure combat ships if it's a hauler/combat hybrid.
To avoid gatecamps with large cargo, there are plenty of existing ships for this: Tech 2 haulers ( Covert hauler and +2 warp strength hauler with massive tank) and Jump Freighters.

take destroyer
fill lows with cargohold expanders
fir cargohold optimisation rigs
have over 1k cargohold. if you need more than that, fly an industrial.

Hmmm yeah I guess that would work too, thanks. |
