Its Americans that don't give a crap about European politics, and proudly couldn't name a single EU head of state.

Well, unfortunately, as America goes so does the rest of the world in this global economy. Listen carefully at your window... I bet you will hear tires screeching...

Margaret Thatcher
Too bad Thatcher wasn't in charge during those riots. I like to think she would have had tanks on the streets within 30 minutes.
On the other hand, that Italian leader is pretty kool. I didn't know what a bunga-bunga party was before. Actually I still don't know what it is, but that chick in the police officer outfit was pretty hot.

There are arguments made by the republican potential candidates that are good, and I somewhat agree with (fiscal responsibility, ect). However, much as I may agree with these arguments, many facets of these candidates social views I find offensive in the extreme (notably views on homosexuality being an abomination, an outdated viewpoint in a country where the majority of the population believes gays deserve equal rights.) While they make good points, other aspects of their political stances ensure that I (and a good portion of independents) would never vote for them.
Simply put, it's not their economic policies that are un-electable, but their social ones.

2012 in America will be all about the fiscal, from what I have seen from looking at polls etc. For better or worse people vote their wallet.
As far as homosexuality...its here to stay...better get with the program people!!!!!

Interesting use of words. Honestly in regards to CCP - I think it is the bitter vets who are going to be the down fall of Eve. Group Think multiplied by the Trolls who look for their time in the lime light by shooting down others.
No New Ships till 18 Months. This is a Level headed statement. Unlike other MMOs, CCP want the current ships to remain useful and obsolete because of the last expansion.
Watch what they do vs what they say - Meant to be an internal memo - a level headed response to- Eve is more vocal than other people and are easily excited. Some people have strong opinions and have burnt out from the game. Instead of moving on they want to make unfocused changes, some who are no longer even relavent. here we go again! |

Originally by: Kno Bodees***** take a position on the OP but I would love to know where the racism comes in...please explain for those of us that don't speak your particular dialect.
Was it the term "black vote" or "affirmative action" that put it over the top in your mind? Is any time you speak of the American president in negative terms, because he is black, racism?
If American blacks condemn a white American president is it also racism? Does political affiliation matter? What happens if a white leftist speaks ill of a black conservative? What if it is left on left or right on right?!?!
Explain please...
Quote: He can't win an election on the black vote alone.
Quote: an unqualified 'affirmative action'
What more do you need really?
He didn't just speak negatively of a President, he BLATANTLY brought race into the discussion. What other possible legitimate reason could he have for saying it? The rest of his criticisms were purely political and entirely acceptable, whether one agrees with them or not, he was the one who brought up color.
Are you naive enough to think that racism just suddenly disappeared because MLK said "I have a dream."?

Interesting. As it is the economic policies that are invariably going to have the greatest effect on your life. I like having a job, do you? I like low taxes. I liked not having to take annoying 'green activists' seriously, just walk away and leave them to their hacky-sacks and dreads.
Gay marriage, eh, one way or the other, doesn't affect me. Energy policy does. Over-regulation of resource extraction industry does.
William Buckley Jr. wrote a great column many years ago. Effectively, he said that even if liberals WORST fears about social conservatives like Pat Robertson came true - IE, not only elected but also able to unilaterally set policy - we'd likely end up with a country that isn't all that much different than 1950's America...which, minus Jim Crow, wasn't all that bad.
Worst I can think of? Blue laws might make a comeback. Prayer in schools. Restriction on the sale and distribution of pron. Abortion and gay marriage would be out.
YAWN, pretty tame stuff if you ask me, hardly worth all the panic, and I'm hardly a 'social conservative'.
Socialists like Obama, if they were allowed to have their way... (ie, have the Tea Partiers rounded up and disposed of) - want to radically change the economy of the country, 'spread the wealth' - lead us away from individual liberty/responsibility - and towards collective salvation. Screw that noise.

Racism does exist and it can be a terrible and violent situation (whatever race it effects). The term is cheapened by overuse.

"Black Vote" describes a voting demographic...
It is similar to referring to the ...white vote...women's vote...Jewish vote...hispanic vote...union vote...goon vote...gay,lesbian and transgender vote...
I think you have to dig a little more to justify the "racist" accusation...just my opinion.

LOL. Wrong, its Labor day. First time I've had two consecutive days off since 4th of July. But don't you worry, still employed, working 80-90+ hours a week. I do more before 8AM than you do all day.
Why do I do it? Simple, millions of Obama voters are relying on me for their welfare checks and food stamps. Would hate to see them starve.

I guess if I still have time before the lock, I may as well take advantage to post my two ISK.
1. Republicans suck ass. 2. Democrats suck balls. 3. Neither sucking ass nor sucking balls is a good position to be in. 4. Whenever the R's and the D's face stiff competition from the I's, they do everything they can to prevent the I's from succeeding. Kind of like how Microsoft and Apple are reacting towards Google. 5. The two-party monopoly of the political system should end. The same goes for the monopoly held by the NC and DRF.
There, got that off my chest.

Confirming that Obama is terribad. Probably the worst president in my lifetime. I know you Europeans out there like him because he's running the US into the ground, thus making the EU more powerful and so on, but for those of us whose quality of life is visibly worse because of his policies, we've had enough of him.
Also confirming that this thread probably does not belong in GD.

I'm not opposed to a third party.
Nothing would make me happier than to see the Green Party grow some balls and start running more of their own candidates in the general elections.

THIS.
Somewhat worried that 'Zero'bama is going to go 'scorched earth' on the US Economy, once he realizes that he has NO chance of re-election. New insane enviro regs like mandating truck fuel efficiency at 55 MPG (I mean, why not mandate cars run on unicorn farts, for crying out loud) printing billions more dollars and calling it QE3. Amnesty for illegal immigrants via executive order. I mean, who knows how far down the rabbit hole goes?
and, yeah. I mostly expected this forum to be frozen by now, but leave it to CCP to fail to keep its promises.
