Err no he doesn't, he presides over one of the largest alliances in game but the actual number is small compared to everyone else.
the only reason he got onto CSM is because the rest of EVE doesn't actually bother voting and he can get the Goons to vote en-mass.
Considering the population in 0.0 is around 14% (ish) of total players in eve and he resides over maybe 3 or 4% of that you see how small the number is that he represents.

Numbers mislead. The so called majority of Eve population mostly don't give a rat's ass about the game. They couldn't be bothered to vote and probably don't even know what CSM is. And tbh, that silent majority doesn't matter. If Goons leave, if DRF leaves, if PL leaves, if -A- block leaves the game will die no matter how many empire dwelers and station huggers are still playing.

Edited by: Trixie Stardust on 06/09/2011 11:03:37 Now that Mittani has the attention of the press, he should drop the lols stuff and get serious about improving the game.
Half of what he says is for lols, that works with Eve people but he'll lose all respect from outsiders -- CCP is a business with real budgets and real issues going on, someone complaining for lols won't be taken seriously.
And ultimately it could end the CSM. Ideally the CSM's ought to be a bit more serious. Think of it like a union, would you want your union delegates being goofballs or serious business when they negotiate with management?

The guy is a muppet.
It has taken 3 months (during which time there has been no major CCP patch) for him to turn from a CCP bum chum to an irate blofeldt.
The fact gaming 'news' sites pick up on this trash is even more sad because what they consider 'news' today is really just vicious conjecture from some drama queen.
Dissolve the CSM and be done with it.

Reading some comments here about Mittani's blog gives impression of either wagers or idiots posted.
CSM head is under NDA and a lot of other legal stuff. If he says something like this in public and to press it means CSM have exhausted its options for negotiation and making a stance for conflict. That also means that there is some developments that playerbase will not like at all and CSM does not want to be blamed for that or have any relation to that.
Mittani voiced concerns of lots of players. And I'm afraid these concerns will come true.
Oh well. Iceland already broke once with it's banking system that was lolz throughout the world. Now they going to repeat that with their digital gaming industry. Sad but there's absolutely nothing players can do about that. We already tried and CSM makes last stand on it. I wish them to succeed but not hold much hope of that considering the history of Icelandic banking system lolz.

Well, i fear though, that this wont end well. Not for the CSM, nor the players or CCP.
All similar situations in other games that i know of ended badly. And the simple fact that we reached this point already should make people realise how bad the chances for eve to survive are.
Eve lived from a old core of players that was a driving force in shaping the game. Now exactly this core players are often the ones who are unhappy with the path CCP choose, especially as CCP was promising us heaven on earth and delivered a hell of bugs and broken features. And i think that Incarna 1.1 killed the last bit of hope that survived until now for a lot of people (including me).
Hope might die last. But at one point it dies for sure. And i think we are beyond that point.

We can, voting with the wallet is a goddamn powerful lobbying tool. Only CCP seems to be unaware of this fact.

The problem with this kind of voting mechanism is, that it will most likly end in a way where everyone loses.
People will stop playing, CCP will not be able to keep the game going and shut it down. Everyone is unhappy, everyone loses.
