Title says it all. I'm able to fly both races transport ships, just wondering how large a difference the speed and mass advantage of the fenrir is? Let's say on a 20 jump autopilot course through high sec, how much time would the fenrir save? That is, if anyone has actually flown both types. I'm aware charon holds the most but the difference between it and an obelisk isn't worth another industrial ship skill to me. Neither is the hassle of doing that thing with web alts to speed things up. |

I realize I am not exactly answering your question, but if your freighter pilot is an alt on a 2nd account (which I assume it is), you can save a lot of time when autopiloting if you do the following:
1.) turn on audio on the freighter pilot account 2.) manually warp to zero on next gate in route 3.) activate A/P 4.) tab to your main and do some fun stuff 5.) when you here "autopilot jumping to next system," tab back over to freighter pilot 6.) repeat steps 2-6 until at destination
If you are in a rush, this should cut the travel time in half (at least), while still allowing you do stuffs with your main. |

EFT, with All Vs, gives me an align time of 36.7 and speed of 125 with a Fenrir and 43.1/102 with a Obelisk.
A Fenrir will take 120s to approach a gate while an Obelisk takes 147s (15,000/ship speed). So a Fenrir will take 120+36.7=156.7s per system. Obelisk is 147+43.1=190.1s. Fenrir will take 190.1-156.7=33.4 seconds less per system. This adds up to 10 min difference over 20j if you're APing.
If you're warping to 0 each time the Fenrir will save you about 6.4s per system or about 2:10 over the course of 20j.
These are pure number-crunching, but it should give you a bit of an idea about the difference between their agility. |

The only thing that matters on autopilot is the max velocity, because that determines the time to travel 12.5 km to gate activation distance, which is where the majority of the travel time is spent. Neither speed in warp, nor time to accelerate to warp speed are as important.
This is why an AFK Charon, the slowest freighter, will easily beat an AFK Orca, even though the Orca has a much higher speed in warp and accelerates much quicker.
That being stated, a Fenrir has a higher top velocity than all other freighters: Fenrir > Providence > Obelisk > Charon. However the Fenrir has the smallest cargo of all freighters: Charon > Obelisk > Providence > Fenrir. |

Winmatar is due to PVP not freighters. Generally people seem to go for the Charon (cargo space) these days, like the above posters suggest. |

Ryuce I gave your post a like just because it was so delightfully absurd I want to pinch your little cheeks. |

Well I tried to send you an ingame mail regarding freighter autopiloting but you are not contactable.
If you were to change that I might hypothetically have a solution to all your autopiloting concerns. |

I find it useful to add some implants to help your afk progress. I don't remember which is which , however i use 3% ship velocity, 3% agility and 10% warp speed implants. |

I have alts that can fly all four races of F.
To answer your question, yes it is worth it to fly the fenrir.
The superior speed percentage varies from the charon, obelisk, and providence but the average is 25% faster. |
