Dear sirs, recently I lose some isks
Situation:
If 1 person stand order to sell smth fo X, and other person stand buy order for same thing for X+Y.
In result of this events: first person will get X+Y ammount.
I's look illogically for me.
The person that give sell order have to get only X! The rest of isks have to drop back to buer.
For example: in supermarket you give to cashier 100 $ for a good that costs 20 $. And chashier tells u: thanks and bye. And no change... |

Or maybe just not being thick?
What he is getting at is quite easy to understand, and comes up fairly often. I happen to think it is a non-issue and he should be more careful in the future. |

I understood it; it's just weird. He's saying that he thinks the Buyer should only have to pay what the seller is selling for, rather than what he offers up in the Buy order.
So, I'm thinking the solid answer here, is to suggest you look at the sell orders before placing a buy order.. Maybe I was actually sleeping in front of my computer and dreamed I posted. Certainly, it's not there now. |

I've always had the thought that, say there are 2 active sell orders for Tritanium. One at 4 for 5,000 units, and one at 4.50 for 100,000 units. I need say 8,679 units so I buy that amount at 4.50 to get them all in one order. Done. I'm simply right-clicking in market and buying, not putting up a buy order. I understand the mechanism that buys that item when I do that, but that economically doesn't make sense. And yes, I understand this would mean a new system would need to be added to differentiate people making buy orders from people buying from active sell orders. I do not see that as being a bad thing.
Why shouldn't my ISK go that seller that put up that larger order? It's a common market practice for buyers to go with sellers that can meet their demand individually at a slight premium in price. Would be a much more realistic market if that were the case, as sellers who put up low quantity orders aren't just leeching off the larger-inventory sellers.
Basic concept, the sell order I choose to buy from is the sell order my ISK should go to. Could I save ISK by splitting up who I buy from? Yes. Did I? No. Give the higher-volume seller credit for getting my sale. |

Looks like a most people have a lot troubles with a simply mathematics. Or you might want to understand ...
It is unfortunate that the post is not interested developers. Game is just a silly game, little resemblance to reality.
Once by mistake when buying you enter the wrong amount (more than it should), then you'll understand what I wrote.

The reason the cheapest order gets filled first is to reward players that put up the cheaper sell order. Just like the highest buy order gets filled first, because you want to reward the player that offers the most for the item.
If you want to pay more for a bulk quantity, you can... it just rewards the cheaper dealers first.... I don't particularly see this as problematic...
