Hi Guys,
about a year ago i've played eve for 3-4 months. I mainly played the market with good profits (700-800m per month) but that soon got boring without any alternatives. Cause i can play only irregularly i dont wanna join a big corp, which relys on me.
I think about coming back but i dont wanna play the market anymore, still i want to make enough profit per month for plex. So i thought about trying planetary interaction, production or exploration. Two questions about that: is it possible to make good profits in these areas without a corp supporting you and starting with 0 skills in that fields? Maybe not in the first two month but after that? And what of those 3 should i choose? I still got about 2 billion on that old account, anything worth investing?

With manufacturing you can definitely make a lot of money, depending on what you manufacture of course. You can then play the market with products you made yourself |

Anything you do in EVE can make you money. It's more about how YOU do stuff then the mechanics. You can become filthy rich from PI, but your income can also suck. It's about YOU having knowledge on what to produce and where to sell it.
PI can make good money, but it depends on where you do it and what you make. In high-sec you have the NPC custom offices which have a fixed tax rate (11% If I remember correct), in low-sec and null-sec those NPC custom offices can be shot down and replaced by Player Owned versions (known as POCO's). These can then be destroyed again and replaced by someone else.
As these things are player controlled, the player defines who can and can't use them and how much tax people should pay.
Production: Involves looks at markets to find out what sells and what doesn't etc.
Exploration: Hit-n-Miss system. You can find a site that has a fancy drop and makes you millions, but you can also have days where you don't find anything worth the time.
And 2 more things:
1.) EVE is an MMO. Play it solo and likely you will stop playing again in about 3 months cause you are bored again. Having corp members around you adds some social stuff to the game and usually keeps you interested.
*EDIT: There are plenty of corporations in EVE that have a Real life first policy. They do understand you can't be online 23/7 or drop what you are doing / take a day off from work to play a game. Try to find one of those and it will make EVE much more fun usually.*
2.) Rule no 12 from the forums (read the bold part):
Quote:Spamming, bumping and pyramid quoting are prohibited.
Spam is defined as the repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users. This includes GÇ£firstGÇ¥ and GÇ£go back to < another game >GÇ¥ posts. Bumping posts in order to keep them near the top of the list is also prohibited. Petitions or "/signed" posts are a version of bumping and likewise are not permitted. Pyramid quoting is a response to a forum thread that contains the quotes of four or more previous posters, sometimes with additional spaces added unnecessarily. Posts of this nature are not conducive to community spirit and are unwelcome. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. You could run an indy pos and make BPC do ME reseach and invent tech II BPCs
PI will wont yield 700 - 800 mil a month it might in a WH.
You could join a WH corp and run sleeper sites, You could also try incursions.
But if your looking for the real fire of this game you need to try pvp.
There are plenty of places to learn that. You've got a nest egg and if you continue to trade you will always have isk for ship replacements. You could try learning from RvB but then again they are pretty large. You could also try smaller corp training programs like agony unleashed or our school Noir Academy.
If your scared of pvp dont be.
Your a capsuleer
no need to feer the reaper Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.comI Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers. |
