While waiting for a threadlock - please enjoy this free ISK making technique:
Make EVE Isk With Mining
Mining is the two one of the most common, and oldest type of generating money. It essentially indicates obtaining a dispatch and fitting mining-shipmining lasers on them. Mining is achieved regularly by obtaining several miners in asteroid belts (which are discovered in practically just about every system) fill up cans, after which have commercial school ships choose up the ore left within the GÇ£jettison cansGÇ¥, this also can be achieved in protected cans, on another hand they only anchor in much less protected systems. The purpose protected cans are becoming applied is due to the fact within the dread of so known as Ore thiefGÇÖs.
Ore thiefs are unsavory folks in commercial ships which will appear for your cans and carry the stuff in them, they cannot be shot or they will trigger concord (=police) response. you can assault them as shortly since the theft work is undertaken cheap eve isk buy but be careful, in the occasion you assault they are able to retaliate and concord will not safeguard you. normally these GÇ£Ore ThievesGÇ¥ will thieve using the intention of inviting an assault in the unprepared, lone or noob miner. Do not assault unless you have assistance or KNOW you will win.
Usually the pretty best mining ships would be the ships with most gun slots, i.e you can one of the most mining laser, ships with mining bonuses or Mining Barges). |

It wasn't hidden very well apparently, CCP needs to work on it. "This'll fool them unless they look at it" is a bad way to camoflage something "A genius throws a Molotov cocktail and soon realizes that he's going to die choking in a maze of smoke and flame. A hero drinks a Molotov cocktail and soon realizes that if he does a split in midair, he can hit twice as many zombies per kick. Drunk hero wins again, wusses." ~Cracked.com |

It tells you there's a $5 activation fee before you sign up, that's pretty upfront.

Put it this way... some other games will make you pay for expansions. EVE won't. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

This activation question is brought up at least once every few months. You know how it ended? If you don't want to pay the one time activation fee. You don't want to play EvE. |

It seems like SW:TOR charged sixty or seventy dollars for the basic edition of their game.
Since Eve is a FAR better game, it seems like $5 is chump change. He who trolls trolls best when he who is trolled trolls the troller. -Darth Gustav's Axiom |

You can play that other popular MMO. They just require a small $100 fee upfront for a ton of really old expansions.
I prefer Eve's smaller initial costs and ability to add alts without investing a small fortune upfront for every... single... one. |

AFAIK, for just about all subscription MMOs you have to buy the game (counter-examples welcome). The only difference is that CCP don't make you buy a physical box, and that they only ever charged $5/5Euro, unlike eg: World of Warcraft where you had to buy a $60 box and then pay for the expansions as well. Or consider a more recent example: Star Wars: The Old Republic which had "special editions" going well past the $100 mark.
Complaining about paying $5 in your first month will not get much traction in that context. MatrixSkye Mk2: "Remember: You consent to unconsensual PVP the moment you press the "Undock" button." |

With a PLEX costing $19.95, and the month-to-month subscription fee costing $14.95, they have to charge a $5 sign-up fee or they'd lose some money on PLEX.
Why? Because instead of paying $19.95 for a PLEX, people would instead just send themselves a Buddy System request and create a new account. They'd then pay $14.95 to activate that account, and their main account would be rewarded with a free PLEX for recruiting someone. They'd then cancel the new account. Net effect - they bought a PLEX for $14.95 instead of $19.95.
The $5 sign up fee negates that tactic. |

Did you go to the store and buy a copy of Eve? I think it is like $20.00 where I live (if you can find it) then you can just use the code to activate the game. That way you are ONLY paying $20.00 instead of that aweful $5. Oh and plus the monthly sub cost.
Never been an expansion cost, probably never will.
