CCP, I read a post in the dev blogs implying that Duality is not up till the end of October. That can't be right.
When will Duality be up so we can test the new AI? |

Duality is useless for testing the new AI. The dev Fox Four stated yesterday that the new AI changes are NOT on Buckingham. |

I feel like on some level you have confused yourself with this post. In any case, Duality's next open date is the 19th October. CCP Goliath | QA Director | @CCP_Goliath |

It is nice to have these dev blogs about changes we can't test for weeks. Nothing better than 30-80 pages of people asking questions that could be answered 3 min after logging in.

We will still have a month and 1/2 before release. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

At least that reduces the timespan for topics from Dinsdale going like this:
"OMG I just tested the AI changes and they chewed up all my drones, eve is dying, ragequit" and so on..... |

That's not really a good thing. Since the amount of changes they will be able to do in that timeframe is minimal. So if there is any issues with the AI during testing, most likely those issues will carry over to release. This ofc implies that CCP actually uses feedback from tests which in most cases they don't.

CCP has been very consistent for the past 3 major releases. What they implemented will be how it is no matter what the player base says before or during pre-release testing. You have to remember that too many goal bonuses rely on meeting dates for something to get changed or, heaven forbid, stopped in its tracks. Just pray they provide enough lube, since I'm still pretty sore from the inventory "improvements" (which still blows chunks). |

I work in an Agile environment, which I believe is similar to how CCP does development. Changing stories and epics in mid-development can be anything but agile, especially because of the pressure to meet the frequent iteration deadlines. So while I do believe that CCP listens to player feedback, changing course during development can be...difficult. |
