I hate to point this out, but my Characters Breasts have gone from Ample to Non-existant...
Seems like you redid some models, but you gotta give us a few body remods if you're going to keep messing with the limits and extents of our characters physiques...

Anja Talis wrote:Ok, I'm a teeny bit confused. I got ship spinning working by running with the log server going... no idea on that... However, I've got the "load station environment" unchecked. When I dock, I get the old ship spinning hanger back. There is then the "unboard" button. Now, I'm expecting this button to send me into Captains Quarters. After all, why else would it be there? But it gives me THE DOOR! (I've just undocked and docked again and I've got the star field rather than spinning. Something a bit funky there!) Well if the load station environment is unchecked, of course you won't load it, and you will load the door instead. You have to check that one and you'll be able to get into CQ. |

I was missing this from the previous dev blog:
Quote:Rather than a checkbox in the escape menu, you will simply be able to board and unboard your ship, toggling between CaptainGÇÿs Quarters and Ship Spinning mode. Your client will remember your last choice, so if you left your station while boarded, you will be boarded the next time you find yourself in a station and vice versa. Expect it on the test server soonGäó.

I currently don't know the timeline for the info release. I do know that my answer will annoy some people, and I apologize. If I run into Guard later (he left for the day) I will see if he's familiar with when that info will be out (Guard is the new king of blog publishing :)). That is a GOOD post. Straight up info, telling us what you know (or in this case don't know) without making it sound like something it isn't. If anyone gets annoyed with that, they really need to think a bit. Don't know really means don't know. This, exactly. This is how you communicate with the "rabble" :) Forward, to the point, not promising anything that is not 100% confirmed and a willingness to go a little bit beyond the call of duty to provide the information that the customers want. This is text-book customer relations. Eventhough I don't care about the CQ at all, I can still honestly say that this how I would wish CCP would behave towards their customers at all times. CCP Fallout - awesome post!
^^ This ....
I also have noticed the lack of Zulu posts after that comment. Hopefully they put him back in the mail room where he belongs instead of communicating with the community which is apparently not one of his better skills.

the new CC looks awesome... excepts its six months to late. this really should have all been put in at the same time.
also am i the only person wondering if all this time the art department could have been working on features we actually wanted in the game (say POS fixes?)
grips aside, its nice to see something in eve being iterated on and not just left hanging.

Excellent! I've been waiting for this. Now when I wake up in a station after a late night run, I'll at least know whose space I'm in.
Wait, I have to sleep sitting up on the sofa since I still can't lie down on the bed.
And still no bathrooms? Surely you don't expect me to walk down those stairs and use my Pod?
But overall, another great job from the Art Department.
I care about BOTH WiS and FiS. The WiS helps me feel like EVE IS Real. And hopefully working on WiS will eventually lead to the time when a mission leads me to an abandoned ship or Alien outpost and that I will actually be able to explore the insides of. When I first started playing EVE, many parts of it reminded me of the old Traveller role playing game by GDW. I enjoy the space battles, but I'd also like to see EVE expanded to include the exploration and adventures that Traveller gave me so long ago. Time will tell.
Good job, guys! |

I so so hate to be one of those bittervets who just picks holes in everything CCP does.
Those CQs look good, they really do.
Except.
Did anybody else notice that the Gallente and Minmatar CQs have identical floorplans, right down to the step-down den with couch in the corner?

For example, in a little bit we will be publish a War on Lag blog later today. I don't get your communication department though. People want spaceship pew pew as has been proven very clearly over the last few weeks and is very noticeably in the number of people playing. Even though you say there is more pew pew stuf coming the latest blogs have been about - cyno effects - fonts - the way the wall looks in a station we want the PVP part of this game fixed. current pvp is blob vs blob. i dunno how you still don't see that the constant nerfing of ship attributes have lead to all this. you and others dont care about immersion. Myself and other DO care about immersion :). Team working on incarna, stay the course, and gj on the Cq. Team working on FiS, stay the course, we look forward to hearing from you :) |

What I love:
1. The new Captain's Quarters are great. Far better than I expected. As for the Gallente CQ, it makes me feel like I'm living in luxury. 2. I was starting to miss the old-fashion ship spinning. I guess the bitter vets were right.
What I Hate
1. That pod... out in the open... put it inside. NO! THAT'S NOT WHAT SHE SAID!!!! |

I'm loving the looks of the CQs.I know this is only the test server, but I'm hoping that the Door never opens the way my characters look there, though (wish we could post pictures in the forums; it would make for a fun thread). They're like what you don't want to be in that "Eye of the Beholder" Twilight Zone episode. Other than that, very nice all around. |

Well, might I bring it to your attention that we Minmatar and Gallente have a good relationship overall. It was the Gallente's love of liberty at all costs that was, in part, what inspired the Mnmatar Rebellion.
Perhaps today's station designs are a testament to this very thing. Two groups of people who borrow and share ideals may thusly borrow and share decor. |

Quote:On science fiction shows conforming to or averting this trope tends to tie directly into the show's placement on the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism. At the idealistic end there won't seem to be a toilet on the space ship at all, but as you move toward the cynical end the chances increase of a bathroom, then a toilet and finally a scene in which someone uses them. Chances of the facilities being poorly lit, poorly maintained or just plain dirty also increase as you get closer to all out Grim Dark. May also occasionally be used to demonstrate to the audience the intended placement of the work on the Mohs Scale Of Sci Fi Hardness. If the creators go through the trouble to demonstrate, say, the placement and function of a bathroom on a spaceship, then it serves as a means of showing that they have given good thought to the travails of space travel.
I think EVE is on the GRIM DARK Scale, and we need toilets.
For real. Or at least something that resembles a washing facility? Pod PIlots really stink, and miraculously are able to scrape their pod goo off of their bodies Instantly upon docking. NOSTRO AURUM NON EST AURUM VULGI |

Adding entirely new, from scratch, graphics/content/anti-lag measures/etc take a bit more time than adding a few exsisting textures/graphics with different names and colors than the old ones.
CCP likes telling thier subscribers about things they are working on as they are working on it, or even before they start, and generally take player input into consideration (dont kid yourself, they listen often.)
Some people think CCP should only listen to them, just because a couple of others agree with them (100 others agreeing with you is still jsut a small ammount of subscribers). You, the oens who agree, and the ones who oppose are all lsitened to and compromises are attempted, and it is my opinion alone that CCP do a pretty good job of this (they rolled out the next step in Incarna, while appeasing those who dotn want it by returning spinning ships)
If a company waits until jsut before they release soemthing before they tell their subscribers about it, it gives the illusion of a speedy rollout. BUT that method leaves NO room for player input.

I patched my SISI client yesterday. It went fine. But after I tried to load it, it loads fine but I couldnt get past window where I have to accept EULA. I coudlnt scroll.
If they couldnt implement patch right on SISI, I wonder what would happen on tranqility.
TO: CCP
If same thing or something worse (like crashes and I'm sure some people would have those problems) happen on tranqility you'll loose more players then you already did. But I'm sure you know that. Only implementation without any major problems and bugs will retain carrent number of players and maybe bring back some of the players that already left. OK minor bugs. Those can be addressd as you go.
Dont worry, I'm not leaving. :)
