Just wondering if there are certain benefits to creative/fiction writing in EVE. I really enjoy the way this games is setup as it allows for almost total immersion in your character and would like to capitalize on that but would it be for anything other than personal satisfaction? |

Cool, thanks! Definitely not intending RL currency but notability and in game isk are very intriguing. |

There is an ISD team called Mercury who's goal is to just write fiction. Might want to look into do that if you are interested.
Mercury is a small team of volunteers that have specialized in everything fiction. Our job is to work with the CCP storyline department in the creation of fiction in many shapes or forms, be it news articles, descriptions, full fictional documents or whatever else is needed. Next to that we also have the chance to tell our own stories set in the world of EVE.
We are looking for volunteers that have passion for the background story of EVE and a very detailed knowledge of it. Creativity as well as very good English and writing skills are an absolute must. You have to be able to write under a deadline and still maintain a high level of activity and a constant output of fiction. If you feel that you have what we are looking for then please apply now.

Here is my Eve fiction story created just for this thread:
I look over at my prize sitting next to me. She is still unconscious with her head leaning against the spaceship window. Her tears have left muddy looking tracks on her cheeks, but she is still pretty. More pretty. It's a look I like in a girl. The spaceship seatbelt cuts right between her breasts, and they jiggle every time my spaceship hits a bump. Just for fun I activates my warp drive and head for belt one at 100km, just so i can see them jumping around. Her head kinda wobbles, her face pressed against the window, and I see that she is getting snot and stuff on the glass. Which kinda pisses me off. I'll have to clean that later. Or make her do it.
"Wake up girl," I say. Then for fun I slap her. Not hard. Just enough to wake her up. "Wake the fck up!"
She opens her eyes slowly, like she doesn't want to know where she is. I can't blame her for that. I align to planet two and activate warp just to keep both my ship and her body in motion. I am not looking at her face, but even so I can see her wake up, and her fear in the way her whole body stiffens up. I am kinda stiffening up myself just looking at her jiggle, and while I am not a carebear, I am suddenly inspired to do a little worm hole exporation if you get what I am saying.
"Why are you doing this?" she asks me. It's funny. She's trying not to cry. "I-- I was just trying to deliver these Space Scout Cookies to the station in Tama."
"Yeah baby, I know. I ordered those cookies. And I can see that they are going to be... delicious!" I activate my drive and head for the sun at zero.
"Y-You better let me go!"
She's trying so hard to be brave. But she's so new, so young. I want to take my time with this one. I have to be careful, not allow my passions to overwhelm me. I want to savor this.
"Why baby? Do you have lots of high sec friends? Are they gonna come looking for you? Are they going to make me pay?" I can't help but giggle.
"Just let me go!" she screams, her voice is shockingly loud in the small space, and I remember now why I usually keep my b1tches in the trunk. "What did I do not you! I'm just trying to have fun and play and you--"
I slap her to shut her up. Her head bounces off the cabin glass then her face rolls back to look at me, dazed and stupid. But quiet. Much better. All her moving around has caused her Space Scout skirt to ride up a bit, and my eyes caress her smooth newb thighs. I can almost, almost see everything, and I am torn between the desire to just reach over and yank her skirt up or slap her again to see if that accomplishes the same thing. I lick my lips and reach for her, just to tease myself, just a touch and no more. I want to enjoy--
The alarm going off in the cabin scares the crap out of me. I look up. I've been sitting at the sun at zero and now I am pointed! I kick on the afterburners, trying to pull range, but the son of a ***** has got a web, and I see local has exploded. My ship shudders from the impact of sun-hot plasma hammering my shields, and I take a moment to observe the intoxicating effect it has on the firm breasts of the girl sitting next to me. Then my guns lock and I return fire, my cannons tearing the darkness. But it's too late, my rifter is caught, and my sensors indicate more enemy ships landing on grid. I turn to my companion, my prize, for one final look before my ship vaporizes. And I think to myself...
I should have watched local.

I appreciate the feedback. I do actually have a corp that I'm loyal to but I am definitely interested in writing fiction within the game possibly for my own corp. |

If you write well and manage to engage the audience, you may even get Billions in donations. INNOMINATE NIGHTMARE did it a few years ago, writing about the adventures of a noob in null sec. Then there was Tarminic, who wrote absolutely awesome forum rants and whines on demand. James 315 is doing it currently, writing about his miner bumping adventures.
As you can see, the actual subject doesn't have to be serious, style is more important. It is never too late to turn from the errors of your ways: He who repents of his sins is almost innocent.

Mittani is another good example; he started out as a notable Goonswarm alliance member writing up forum propaganda, graduated to Ten Ton Hammer articles about espionage, and now has his own website which does pretty well, I believe. He landed an interview with the Sony Online Entertainment CEO recently, which seemed pretty big to me.
Writing in EVE can definitely take you places. |

Lordy Lordy Lordy! There is a name from the past 'Innominate Nightmare'. What happened to the guy. I have a memory that he sort of fizzled out after a lot of people said that he was just scamming and making it all up. But whatever, he wrote a damned fine tale, and if it was infact a scam, then the guy should still be credited with running one of the best and most of the wall, and entertaining scams in Eve's history

It's genius.

The best and most entertaining scam in Eve's history was of course Nightfreeze's The Great Scam, a tale from the early history of EVE.
(INNOMINATE NIGHTMARE btw did not scam; he did sell shares for isk but made it clear that buyers should not expect any )return. It is never too late to turn from the errors of your ways: He who repents of his sins is almost innocent.

Well for one thing, there are eve news sites;
http://themittani.com www.evenews24.com
If you can write coherently and on point about something of interest, then either of those sites will consider publishing you. My personal preference is for themittani.com, but I advise you check them both out to see which editorial style suits you best.
Even as a new player, you can say things of interest; the new player experience is a constant topic of debate, and it's always fascinating for multi-year EVE veterans to read about a new player learning to play and making their way in New Eden.
