After numerous years of exploration I have noticed a few things that I believe should be amended. This also comes from general chats about DED difficulties. I can only talk about Gurista and Serpentis sites but I am sure people can tell me about the others.
DED rating should be reshuffled to show the true difficulty of a site where some are easier than others. Here are some examples.
Gurista DED 6/10 is easier/faster than the 5/10 Gurista DED 3/10 is harder/longer than the 4/10 Gurista DED 8/10 is easier/faster that the 7/10 Gurista DED 4/10 is a piece of cake to complete, enough said...
Serpentis DED 8/10 is harder/longer than the 10/10
Just a few to get you thinking. If they was reshuffled it would give newer explorers a chance to try sites they 'think' they can't do as the game tells them it is harder than it actually is. Either that or toughen/weaker certain sites to make them match their rating. I dont know how the upcoming NPC AI changes will affect them but I doubt not by much at all.
Whilst reshuffling DED [FACTION] FLEET STAGING POINT. Should be officially rated 9/10 as CCP state this is what it should be. Along with the 6/10 sites of certain factions.
I dont know how hard this is for CCP to change coding wise but I believe it to be a good idea. The Shadows Proclamation is recruiting new and existing explorers for nullsec exploration. Join a team and experience null safely. Join 'The Shadow Lounge-' and chat with us. |

I dont have a big experience in plex exloration, but cleared few Sansha Blood sites. Sansha 4/10 is a walk in the park (it takes roughly 10-15 minutes in my Arbitrator) compared to some 3/10. |

Agreed. Some of the difficulties seem off and a site that effectively has a 10/10 boss should be listed as a 10/10, not lower. |

So.... are you suggesting that deadspace drops and security status bands are also adjusted? That is, should Guristas Guerilla Grounds drop cruiser C-types and spawn in both high and low according to your proposal? |

Guristas also have the easiest and most rewarding plexes considering other pirate factions.

Possibly, but hear me out.
Isk/Reward is broken. People can play in highsec and earn more than a nullsec player. Lowsec exploration can earn alot more than null due to the new invuls but even before that those boosters (for guristas) brought in players alot of isk.
In Gurista null one of the main loots you hope for are the Rattlesnake BPCs which bring in roughly 350mil when sold as the other modules are almost worthless not including the tiers. Unless you farm 10/10(Maze) for the Gist X Types, which are pricey.
Now I am not saying reshuffle, that is the merely the idea I had but as I said in my OP, CCP merely only needs to make the complexs harder/weaker to bring them into line with their ratting. If that means adding rats or tough them up then so be it.
An example of this would be the Serpentis 8/10. Where the structure should be set to NOT repair (or not repair outside the 50km range like the 10/10 making it harder.

Completely agree. I do mostly high sec PLEXing. Guristas DED 4/10 is way too easy considering the fact you can get 300-500 mil worth modules from it. Also Caldari space PLEX is much more profitable than other races. Ive done run Jita-Ammar-Rens-Dodixie few times and single module from Caldari space is worth more than all I could find in Amarr, Minmatar and Galente space all together. |

I've been thinking about this; probably too hard. And I don't think you've hit the real point here.
Yes, there are plexes that are easier than higher rated sites in all spaces. But I think there's actually another issue: the ratings don't mean a whole lot when comparing spaces (at least not in all cases; 5/10s for instance seem pretty on par with one another).
Look at the variation from just 6/10s. Guristas: easy. No doubt about it. Blood Raiders: no real challenge. Sansha: good luck breaking the overseer's tank solo. Angel: not that difficult. Serpentis: wtf?
Which is to say, the DED ratings (understanding that I listed two unrated equivalent plexes in there but whatever) not only don't compare linearly within a faction's space, but also don't mean much across factions. And that lack of consistency is somewhat annoying.
However, I'm not sure this translates into an argument to shuffle around rewards. As annoyed as I am that invulns entered as cruiser modules instead of BS modules, it is what it is. And that means Angel and Guristas space is just plain better than the rest (at least in high and low). Shield modules in general are more sought after (with good reason), so again, Angels and Guristas win. Any variation wherein null is less profitable than low/high is actually incidental compared to cross-faction variation.
And I'm not sure there's a real problem with that. Space was not made equal, etc.
And so I guess I'd say that to have this conversation effectively we really need to pull apart the fact that ratings don't reflect difficulty and ratings don't reflect rewards (in ISK terms). We can remedy one or the other but doing both seems too much. If you're talking mostly about making difficulties more equivalent and scalable, I think I can get on board with that. Rewards... well, they are what they are. At least it keeps people away from my precious Blood Raiders. |

Risk/Reward is broken.
It would help to explain. Guristas shield tank and jam. They are easy to do with a tengu. The loot is rewarding because only 2 Pirate Factions drop Shield Loot, and because players like to Pimp mission and ratting boats.
RiskReward is not broken, you just casually threw that in there for this case. Its broken in the case of highsec for one. There are plenty of hunters in Low and some in null. |

With a few exceptions like the serpentis sites I don't think the differences warrant a reshuffle. Just because you can speedrun or use certain tactics/ships to make the site easier or faster to run than the previous one doesn't mean the rating system needs to be changed. The ratings are just general guidelines and reshuffling them is just pointless busywork, that doesn't actually benefit anyone or create new content for the players.
Similar with the rewards. The value differences are mostly based on the popularity differences of different tanking methods. CCP shouldn't be doing changes based on what the players value. The rewards just need to be in line with the site rating and relative modules. Like similar sites should give the same item type(A, B, C, X), size and purpose(invu field/EANM). These drops should not be balanced based on the current market value of the drops. Price differences are normal and it's the players who should migrate and compete for the best drops. |

Not needed.
What is needed, is a boost to overseer personal effects value. Their current values are severely outdated and have not been adjusted to address inflation.
133 mil for a 10/10 is a joke these days, especially for a 10/10 like the Blood one. |
