Personally I love the 'Forever Alone' feeling of being trapped in my CQ watching Concord propoganda on TV while wondering 'How can the atmosphere in the station not be suitable for capsuleers, when the entire hangar my ship sits in is open air.' I guess having breatheable air around my spaceship is much better than face to face contact with other players anyways. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

I suppose. Spinning Ships In Station is a favorite past time of mine. I even have four accounts to do it on. But really, if people want Walking In Stations so bad they can go play SWTOR. It's going to be free soon and has some pretty large stations to walk around in. As far as EVE goes, Walking In Stations is in the dumpster, where it belongs. CCP even gave us a way to turn it off because it sucks so bad. The backlash was against far more than Greed is Good. CCP spent a large amount of money to release a tech demo that they tried to pass off as an expansion, when it should have been spent to create content that the average EVE player cares about. Hmmm, lets see: I suppose. Spinning Ships In Station is a favorite past time of mine. I even have four accounts to do it on.
More power to you, if that's what holds your attention for long periods of time. But really, if people want Walking In Stations so bad they can go play SWTOR. It's going to be free soon and has some pretty large stations to walk around in.I don't play SWTOR. Isn't it another one of those successful games that combines first person action with starship combat? What a concept. As far as EVE goes, Walking In Stations is in the dumpster, where it belongs. CCP even gave us a way to turn it off because it sucks so bad.
Yes, because it makes sense to develop a prototype for a game mechanic that is "in the dumpster". The backlash was against far more than Greed is Good. CCP spent a large amount of money to release a tech demo that they tried to pass off as an expansion, when it should have been spent to create content that the average EVE player cares about. At last, you are approaching an actual point. If CCP had either 1: Included Incarna content that people were expecting to see, with some semblance of meaningful game play, or even just 2: Emphasised that Incarna was nothing more than a Tech Demo instead of presenting it as an expansion they would have had few issues with the player base. Most people would love to find something Avatar related that they could enjoy doing, despite what you would like people to believe, but thats going to take sensible steps like this prototype to see happen. We want WIS in this game ,not another Well the tech demo they made is surely good-looking ,only that closed door is a downside You don,t like it ,don,t use it like many ohter aspects of this game
We want! Yes!
I'm a very long time in EVE, and one of the reasons why I'm still playing the waiting walking on the station! But the wait is not unlimited. In general, recently became a little time to spend in the game. I'm just waiting when will come out that I want it! |

I can respect that this is something you want. The problem was CCP did not respect the LARGE number of people that did not want it and were forced to bring back the old "functional" hanger minus the spin.
TBH, Helmer's(sp) apology letter spells things out pretty straightforward. CCP lost their way and did something based on their static vision vs what people that pay to play the game wanted.
Sure team avatar is working on WIS, but that is a long way off as CCP has re-prioritized the space portion of the game.

You must be new. Everyone knows that nothing takes less than 18 months to implement. Soon(tm). And anyway - they do have a prototype up and running for exploring ruins in space. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI53ydJaus8&feature=relmfu From 12 to 58 seconds. Here's what I'd like to see, but the prototype is, perhaps we'll see it on the fanfest. it's not that Incarna, but this is what we all want. |

This is pretty much true. Some people want WIS in this game? That's swell, but so many people don't that the CEO of CCP straight up apologized for pursuing a CCP pet project rather than something that a majority of the players wanted.
Supporters of WIS can shake their fists in the air all they want, but never forget that CCP apologized for working on WIS when other aspects of EVE needed work. |

And despite this, I'll repeat it.
CCP have been focusing on the space side of this game for the better part of a decade now. One could reason that FiS is just as much of a tech demo as WiS..... if the game still needs another decade's worth of expansions and work just to make everybody happy....
Given the phallic and multi-layered nature of the Eve support base who grow increasingly upset at changes with each new patch, then go about demanding more changes... the cycle of demands for space will be never ending... Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk! |

Respect.
CCP could have avoided all of the uproar about WIS etc... if they had just come clean like Helmer said they should have. Let's face it this "IS" a FIS game and WIS is an add on that is still not optimized to run like the rest of the game and that kind of imbalance is just part of the list of reservations people have about the entire WIS deal.
The good thing is at least CCP realized their mistake and went back to the planning boards in an effort to get it right in the future. |
