Well the subscription parts isnt weird. CCP has to pay their employees, develop new things for EVE and DUST514, develop EVE:Valkyrie and make some profit.
Without sub money EVE wouldnt have existed for 10 years.
As for using in game currency (ISK) to pay for gametime, yes that is possible. You buy a PLEX on the market and use that to add 30 days to your account.
Keep in mind it is other players that bought the PLEX from CCP and are reselling it you in game. Because of this the price of PLEX in game is valued on supply and demand (current prices at time of posting is between 600-650 million ISK).

Jacob vakarain wrote:If i were to upgrade my trial account for the 1 month, does that mean each month i would get a recurring charge of 9.99 or does it mean i would pay -ú9.99 once and after a month i would have to re subscribe for another month. Is it possible to pay for 3 months in one go (-ú24 straight away) or would i have to pay -ú8 3 times. Or is it possible to start a 3 month subscription and pay -ú8 pounds for one month and then after you have paid for the first month cancel the subscription so you get rid of the recurring payments as well as having paid one pound less than I would have done if I had selected for one month straight away for 9.99?
Recurring subscriptions auto renew when you run out of game time with the same length as the previous ones.
If you take a longer then a month subscription. You pay all at the same time and also get added all paid time at 1 go. So if you buy a year sub, you pay for the entire year and you get 360 days of game time added on your account. Want to have some chat in game? Need help to get into the game as a new player? I have an abstract question related to this:
I bought the collectors edition and it came with a 60 day new account card. When I put in the code I got the option to either use it on a new account in trial or to make one outright. I chose the second option and made a new account right there.
So... Do I still get the 14 trial days with that account I created, for a total of 74 days game time, or only 60 days? |

What do you currently get for subscribing through eve online?
The website doesn't give a description, while stores like Amazon promise a lot. What gives? |

I recently bought the Humble Bundle with 20 dollars and got the starter pack, the vanity pack and the PLEX. My account info says that I have received the humble bundle promotion codes and I have gotten my PLEX activated. Unfortunately, I have only received the Vanity pack rewards and have not yet received the PLEX or the starter pack's contents (materials, skill booster, and 30 days subscription). Am I doing something wrong or do I have to wait a bit for the package and PLEX injection? |

Helloooooo. I made an account a few days ago, and I was about to upgrade from my trial, but I happened to be logged out and saw that is was $10 per month to subscribe AND make an account. But subscribing from a trial costs $15 per month. Is there any reason why that is? And had I known I could have gotten it for $10 if I didn't make a trial account, I would have done that (although I did so much in my trial I'd rather not start over).
And in regards to all of that, is the $10 just the first month or every month? All of this is in terms of the one month at a time fee, because that'll be what I'll be doing. |

...so after 2 years away New Eden has managed to draw me back in again!
The toon I'm posting this with is a trial acc. and his trial time is up in 2 days. I wanted to try a new toon out and also reacquaint myself with the UI, etc. before diving back in with my old acc.
Thing is... I like this new guy too. And now I want to keep him going also. I've seen the 'power of 2' offer which seems like a good deal;
https://secure.eveonline.com/SecondaryAccountSignup/
...but that seems only to apply to a NEW, new acc.
Just wondering if there are any special payment options for running 2 existing acc.s. (Any shiny stuff included free would also be v.much appreciated!) |

Nice topic, thank you for the useful information.
I played EvE for some time 5 years ago, but I can see now many things changed. Although I spend my free time playing Starpoint Gemini 2, which is a really cool space sim, I still like the MMO element in EvE and a nice community. :)
I grew up on games like Wing Commander, Freelancer...
Nice to be here again. :) |

Hey guys,
Sorry to drag up an old thread but i'm having a problem with my account regarding upgrading and my support ticket has been "pending" for over 2 days.
Basically I created a new account instead of upgrading my current account by accident - I created a support ticket straight away but havn't had a reply. I created another ticket on the new account and that ticket doesn't even appear in the "my tickets" section of the website. I'm at a loss and feeling inpatient (I basically paid for a game and can't play it!) - having had no correspondence from EVE online.
Can anyone recommend what I can do to get this sorted?
Many thanks! Oli |

Hi, got a question about upgrading an account. I've noticed that you can buy periods of game time online (e.g. from Amazon) instead of getting a subscription. This is ideal for me, as I'm not certain if I want to go for a full subscription yet, and the CCP website sets you up for that automatically.
However, I can't help notice that one of the reviews claims that their trial account failed to be upgraded having done this. Obviously, this is not an ideal situation - I'm already looking at skills that require a full account. So, my question is this: will buying game time through Amazon work fine? Will it upgrade my account to full? In addition, I have a few codes gained from the Green Man Gaming signup offer - can I use these after having bought time in this way?
Thanks in advance. |

Welcome. Probably a trivial question but wants to make sure. If the account is a trial or a referal you can upgrade by using such "Core Starter Pack" |

I just came back after two years away, and rolled a new pilot. Best way I've found to upgrade is the core starter pack (you can get it from Amazon). Adds a month of game time to your existing trial time, and gives you a load of stuff to get you rolling. As of yesterday (10-31-14) EVE was offering a discounted first time account upgrade for $9.99 and it came with a ship of your choosing and 30 days of play time. Just a couple of worthwhile, affordable, options for new pilots that I thought people should know about.
*edit* Core starter pack from Amazon is $19.99..they also have the add on packs for $4.99ea |

Hey, I tried to upgrade my trial account to a 6 month subsctiption with Paypal. CCP got the money but the transaction ID says failed and I'm still on trial . I created a support ticket 5 days ago but still no reaction from CCP. How long does it usually take for them to get to such an issue?
Greetings, Oliver |
