Edited by: Rockn U on 04/04/2005 03:40:54 A couple months ago i downloaded the client and tried out the $20.00 "Free Trial" rofl... i could almost stop here but i'll continue.
I decided the game wasnt' right for me, so i cancelled my subscription before the trial was over.
A week ago or so, i decided i would give it another shot... so i reactivated my account.
Today i find out they charged me another $20.00 for this month... even though it's supposed to be like $15.00 a month... So basically CPP , you owe me 5 bucks USD.
Thanks.

Lets review....
Free trial is infact free, you paid 20$ you ripped your self off.
If they just charged you 20$, simple email or petition, and im sure it'll be taken care of. This is not the place to ***** and moan about finicial setups

Where does it say "free"? -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

You guys might wanna sit back and turn on your brain...you pay $20 for the game itself...they give you the month free, you think they are gonna give you the game? no, just like buying the box in rl you have to buy the game and they give you the first month free.
Then what i think you did was uninstalled it then bought it again...just like going out another eve box, instead of just keeping your game installed and just reactivating your account.

OK
Firstly - downloading the game client & patches is free.
As to playing the game - there is no such thing as a $20 free trial (its kind of an oxymoron).
option one: "Free 14 day trial account" - you pay nothing, and get 14 days on an account.
Option two: "Pay $20 and get 30 days in game". This is also known as "buying eve". -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

the key word here is he "reactivated" his account.
there is a $20 reactivation fee. There is your charge and it is non-refundable.

If you feel you have been wronged by ccp then just petition. If they were in fact wrong they will own up and pay you back. If not they will probably explain to you what you are misunderstanding.
FYI if you speak badly about ccp in the general discussion you will get flamed. If you compliment ccp or say that they rock in general discussion you will also get flamed. Pretty much the only safe topic here is pie and even that sometimes draw flames. So getting flamed here is nothing personal __________ Capacitor research |

Having done this recently for a friend I can tell you that yes it is a Free 14 day trial... The catch is to make your 14 day trial account a regular paying account it costs you 20$ for the first month. after that if you keep the account active its only costs you the normal prices (whichever payment package you chose).
If you stopped playing your trial before the 14 day period the account goes into a frozen mode anyway. SO the 20$ first month was basicly the price CCP put on it to make a "trial" account into a full account with 1 month play time.

If you were charged $20.00 in the beginning, you did not do the free trial, you bought the full game, which included 30 days of gametime.
If you were charged $20.00 again when reactivating, you either bought the game again or there is bug, which Customer Support will gladly help you sort out. _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Umm, they did give me the game for free, and gave me free time to play too... something like 30 days IIRC. I didn't pay a dime until after that 30 days when I decided to give pay for continuing. I didn't even give them my CC number until after I had played for about 2 weeks.
I think you can buy the game, and get the first month included in that fee, but there are also free trials out there that are fully free, you just have to look. If they didn't have FREE trial that was FULLY FREE, I wouldn't be here right now (and many of you would be much happier ).
