How would I go about figuring out which would give me a better yield.
2 hulks with max skills (Exhumers V, etc)
1 Orca OR Rorqual with max skills (Capital Industrial and Industrial Command Ships V) Leadership V skills (Foreman and Director and Warfare Link Specialist V)
The third character, would it be better to have him in the boosting Orca or Rorqual or put him into a third Hulk?
The only missing mining bonus is the Foreman Mindlink.
There will be another character doing the hauling so please ignore that part of it.

If you are using a Rorqual you'll need to use retrievers or mackinaws since the hulks will not have a hauler. Rorqual will give better boosts and you can compress. If you're not going to be compressing while mining and not have the mindlink you're not really going to get much added bonus.
Using the Orca on the other hand will still offer boosts but can also haul, so you can use hulks / covetors to increase the yield. But it also means having a 3rd ship in belt (if there is an issue with reds / rats). |

I'm curious what the yield would be with the maxed out Rorqual in Industrial Mode vs in normal mode with boosts + Hulks
Or maxed Orca + 2 Hulks
Or 3 hulks plus normal leadership skills.
Not worried about hauling right now.

third account is where a booster is better than an extra exhumer if you have the mining foreman implant, 4th account if you don't have the implant. that holds true for orcas, and probably rorquals. Reading my posts is like panning for gold; most it will be useless, but occasionally you'll find a nugget of gold. |

unless you have 4 accounts, it's not worth having a booster. Reading my posts is like panning for gold; most it will be useless, but occasionally you'll find a nugget of gold. |

So you are saying with 3 accounts and a 4th hauling, I should just use 3 Hulks rather than 2 Hulks and an Orca or Rorqual?

if you have 4 accounts, 3 exhumers and 1 rorq/orca is optimal. with or without a mining foreman implant.
with 3 accounts, 2 exhumers and 1 rorq/orca is ONLY optimal if you've got a foreman implant for the rorq/orca. otherwise 3 exhumers is optimal. Reading my posts is like panning for gold; most it will be useless, but occasionally you'll find a nugget of gold. |

2513 m3/minute boost no implant 2973 m3/minute ora + implant
2711 m3/minute rorqual no implant 3420 m3/minute rorqual with implant

Check the mining tab of the app in my sig. You can just total up the numbers there.

Consensus generally is that for two pilots it is better in terms of yield to have two mining vessels rather than one Hulk & one Orca. If you are talking about four vessels including one hauler I would say two Hulks, one Orca, & one hauler would be the way to go.
In the end though it's all about personal preference and what works for you. |

I currently run 3 accounts with a maxed Rorqual and T2 links with mining foreman implant and two makinaws. Using T2 ice harversters, my cycle time is 2,000 m3/91.04 seconds. That works out to approximately 39 cycles/hour @ 2,000m/cycle or 78,000 m3/hour per miner.
Under my old calculations, two hulks with maxed Orca bonuses and a mining foreman implant would be equal to 3 hulks mining without an Orca. That was before the T2 mining gang links and the Exhumer revamp. Also, the Rorqal has much better bonuses than an Orca when in siege mode. "Miners mine so I don't have to." ~Metal Icarus |

Dont be ******** hes in nullsec he can jetcan fine and hop in an orca every 2 hours and haul to station. The only times you should use macks or rets is if your lazy. |
