As I travel for missions, I have been scanning for anomalies ... but cant find anything but wormholes ... is it because other players already completed a signature .. or is it because signatures are not that many in a solar system.
Where is a good place to scan ... a place without too many ppl in local chat (less explorers?). How do I find those?
Thanks |

Hi Sec seems to be 50% worm holes 50% everything else.
And they respawn after downtime so if you play in the evening 'eve time', you may well have missed all the Mag and Rad sites which are the best paying.
Low sec is a much better ratio, but you need good scanning skills cos you need a decent Cruiser which dont have any scanning bonuses, and NEVER go without a cloak! ti'n siarad Cymraeg? |

I'm assuming that by anomalies you mean signatures. They're not the same things, so you want to keep them separate in your mind too. You can find signatures everywhere and they constantly respawn, but in higly populated areas they're usually done quickly after respawning. This doesn't mean you can't find a lot of sites there. It just means, that you'll need to do a lot of traveling to find any significant amount of sites worth doing, since they don't have time to gather in any significant concentration before someone does them. Less populated areas of space will have less explorers and therefore more sites for you and in larger concentrations, but there are always good reasons why an area is less populated. Either it's significantly more dangerous or the sites aren't worth as much.
As for how to find those less populated areas, you can open your in-game map and sort things by population. You can also go to systems/groups of systems, that aren't on popular travel routes. The ingame map isn't good for this, so you should use something like dotlan regional maps to spot those areas. Just be aware, that while they're less populated they might not be less popular to explorers. Every explorer knows this just as you do, so they'll be going through the less populated systems, that the general population avoids. |

The more people that are nearby means it's more likely things have been dealt with already.
Use the ingame map [statistics] to see where quieter less travelled areas are. Use dotlan (linked above) or Ombey's 2d maps.
Hisec exploration is less profit, but slightly less chance of being shot at. Remember losec & nulsec doesn't mean instant death, just that you need to be much more aware of your surroundings.

Find yourself a nice low-population chain of systems between 0.5 and 0.7
I seem to get the most RADAR sites and DED (mostly just drone sites with little to actually shoot at) in my systems
Or do as stated above and venture into low/null, just be prepared and willing to be turned into a blubbering mess :p ___________________________________ Min/Gal Frigate Fighter. Looking for UK Corp! |

The best advice is to get out of the most populated areas of HiSec and travel around a bit. It's not that uncommon to find a large number of sites in some quiet out of the way solar systems.
I've certainly come across systems with 10+ signatures |

Ovv Topik wrote:And they respawn after downtime No, anoms and sigs have no link with downtime, their signature ID will change after downtime if they still exist, but when an anom/site is completed, it respawns in a random similar sec-level system. Exploration sites and anoms are less frequent during peak hours because there's more people running for them, not because of DT. "haiku are easy, But sometimes they don't make sense, Refrigerator." |
