Hey guys. I am a new player, but I am working to gain more knowledge every hour I play. I have been selling ore and refined materials on the market in Rens. I have one question. I tried selling concentrated veldspar for 19 isk for each ore. I change the price when i hit the Sell This Item button when right clicking the ore in my inventory. The lowest buyer had it at 17 isk, and when I entered 19 into the sell price, it somehow was sold to the lowest buyer for 17 isk per ore. However, it is still listed as an acitve order on the market. Is this strange or normal? |

I'm confused. Why does it matter what the LOWEST buyer is paying when you want to sell it to the HIGHEST bidding buyer? Also did you have your "Buyer" listings sorted by sell price descending? Typically when you sell something it automatically gets sold to the highest bidder, but when you change the price it actually creates a sell order which sits waiting for someone to come along. People typically sort sell orders by price ascending and buy the cheapest item which will be at the top. So.... something went fonky there. |

If you have it under market orders then it hasn't sold yet.
I think you said it showed a market order. How are you determining that it sold to the 17 isk order?? I plan on living forever.......so far, so good. |

You always sell to the highest buy order, and buy from the highest sell order.
Make sure to sort your sell orders from lowest to highest, and your buy orders from highest to lowest. |

If you show the listing as a market order you never sold the ore. |

The somewhat RP (and game mechanic) answer is that you aren't selling or buying directly.
You are paying a broker to sort out your business.
And the broker isn't stupid enough to buy anything for more than the lowest price available, or sell anything cheaper than the highest available.
It's also a way by CCP to limit money laundry and unwanted abuse of trial accounts.

Also, the stuff vanishes from your personal inventory because it's up for sale on the market, even if it hasn't sold yet. |
