I like to share an very unique story in a short version from 2008 I remembered today:
I am German and in my first alliance EXA NATION some day I was chatting with DocSabbath from US because he told me that he was born in Germany. His mother was German and his father a GI. I asked him where he was born and it was surprisingly the same small village called Bad Kreuznach where my father was born. It was a logistics spot for the allied.
He told me that he has no memories about Germany and just knows the surname of his mother's family and that she had a brother who's not alive anymore. His mother was 16 when he was born. He gave me his uncle's name and I asked my aunt living in this area if this name sounds familar to her. She negated.
A few days later she called me and told me that a very good friend of my uncle had this name. Finally we found out that my uncle's friend had a 16y old sister who showed her secret baby to my uncle. He could remember his name and that he held him in his arms. A few weeks later they left Germany.
My aunt sent me some pictures of my uncle's friend and a notice of death. I scanned that and sent it to my ingame friend. It was a very emotional moment for him when he received the only pictures of his German family. He planned to visit me and my family with his wife in 2011. But we were not able to meet.
When I write this I am still shivering. I joined EVE-Online with thousands of players and meet randomly a guy from US who is connected to my father's family in Germany. This is simply amazing. |

Casirio wrote:Hah, want to hear a crazy story... When I first started playing Eve on a diff toon I joined a noob friendly high sec corp with about 100 members. Was in there for a few months, made some friends and what not.. one day I mentioned something about a place I used to live, and one of my corp mates was like "oh yeah, where at in that state?" So I say where, and get a "no way I used to live there too." Long story short, one of my actual "good" friends and I reunited in the same corp after we hadn't seen each other in 4-5 years since highschool on an island in Alaska (population of 6,000.) crazy huh? |

I'm a male nursing student. Fairly rare (less than 10% of nurses are male in North America).
I also play EVE Online. Also very rare (less than 0.006% of North Americans play EVE).
Go figure; one of my male classmates also plays EVE Online.
In fact he has 90 million SP, so he's an old, old bitter vet. Everyone vs Everyone Xuixien - Space Cat, Queen of Rens |
