Hey,
been thinking bout getting the Mining Foreman Link implant, some ppl have been saying that for the miners to make full use of it they need to be setup in a sqaud in the fleet,
been tryin to look for the correct way to setup a mining fleet, i need to know where to place my miners and where i should be within the fleet setup, to give boost and for my miners to get the extra bouns from the mining foreman link ?

Have a look at the evelopedia fleet article for an explanation of how boosts work in a fleet, specifically the "Fleet Roles" and "Leadership Skills and Modules" sections. Mining boosts work just like combat boosts. |

A Fleet Commander will grant his leadership bonuses to all members in the fleet, including himself. ???/
does this mean my miners will get the affects from the Mining Foreman Link ?

It depends on your leadership skills. If you have leadership 5, you can boost ten miners in your squad. If you have wing command 5, you can boost 55 miners, if your squad commanders have leadership 5. If you have Fleet Command level 5, you can boost an entire fleet if your wing commanders have wc 5 and your squad leaders have leadership 5.
Hope it helps. |

To get bonuses though, you always need to have a wing/squad commander. You can't just all be in the same fleet. Maximze your Industry Potential! - Get EVE Isk per Hour! |

If they are getting your warfare link bonus then they will be getting your Mining Foreman Link bonus
If you're the bonus giver, then you need to be in command of the squad or wing or fleet depending on your fleet size.
Squad is up to 10 members (2 per level of "Leadership" skill)
up to 5 Squadrons can be commanded by a Wing Commander position, (1 per level of "Wing Command")
Fleet command is the top level, and can command up to 5 Wings (1 per level of "Fleet Command")
So simple set up is if you've got up to 10 members you want in your fleet, set the bonus giver as the squad command and the rest of the fleet as squad members. The bonus giver will need to have "Leadership" to 5 to control a squad of 10 members, then all 11 (squad command + 10 members) will get bonus - I think that the squad commander and at least 1 of the squad members need to be undocked in the same system.
If you want to give bonus to more than 10 then you need to have wing command trained to command more squads, and each squad needs to have someone as squad command with leadership trained up enough to command the number of members in their squad.

As long as there is a squad commander, yes. You can check by looking for the green check in the fleet window or a red X. If your squad didn't have a commander, you wouldn't get bonuses. So just make sure each squad has a commander.
Just go play around with it. You'll figure it out. But basically, the fleet booster isn't a miner since they'll be in an orca or rorqual boosting. If your miners are getting the ganglink bonuses, then your mindlink implant will also apply too. Maximze your Industry Potential! - Get EVE Isk per Hour! |

just need to know where to put my miners so they get the affects from the Mining Foreman Link and boosters The easiest way to verify that you are granting the bonuses may be if you fit the module that increases strip laser range from the base value of 15 km. Your fleet members can simply mouse over their strip laser modules and see the range value, and if it says 15 km instead of a higher value, then you've done something wrong.
Setting up a small fleet correctly is very, very easy, though. It only gets tricky once you have more than 10 or 11 members, because then you have to muck around with wing commanders and so forth. So just give it a try.

It is fairly simple. Just go to the fleet window and set your Orca pilot as fleet booster. |

Well to keep it simple the booster can be fleet, wing, or squad.
The booster does not have to be the leader there has to be a leader in the position with the right leaderships skills.
For squad boost to be applied you must have a squad leader with leadership skills trained. (squad leader can be the squad booster but does not have to be.)
For wing booster to apply the boost, you must have a wing commander with wing command skill trained. As well as a squad leader for each squad receiving the boost.
For fleet booster to apply boosts you need a fleet commander with fleet command skill trained, a wing commander for each wing, and a squad commander for each squad.
The booster does not have to hold a command position and not all booster positions need to be filled. However all command positions need to be filled for the whole fleet to receive boosts.
Boosts do not stack. only the highest boost for each type will be applied.
The easiest way is to have the booster as squad leader and squad booster. Than all members of that squad will receive the boost.
If there are to many in fleet to fit in a single squad then you need to form an additional squad which will require a wing commander. You then move the squad booster up to wing booster. Only the squads in the wing that have a squad leader will receive the boost.
If there are then to many fleet members to fit in the max squads of a single wing then you need to add a second wing, by first adding a Fleet Commander. You can then bump the booster up to fleet booster. Again all command positions need to be filled for the boost to carry down to all squads. If a wing commander leaves the fleet that wing will not receive boosts until a another qualified pilot fills that wing command position. Same if a squad leader leaves, the position must be refilled for that squad to continue receiving boosts.
So groups make use of different squads and wings to organize the fleet even if they do not need it to accommodate the number of fleet members. This is fine as long as you remember to keep all command positions filled in order for the whole fleet to receive the boosts.
If you have a single squad but set the booster to fleet booster nobody will receive the boost unless there is a Fleet Commander, Wing Commander, and Squad Leader to carry the boost down the chain, even with only a single squad in the fleet. Keep the booster as low tier as possible to cover the whole fleet and ensure the boost is applied. |

Leadership positions must be filled for the boost to carry down the chain. If you have a fleet booster but no Fleet Commander then nobody receives the Boost.
If you have a Fleet Booster and a Fleet Commander but no Wing commanders then only the Fleet Commander will receive the Boost.
If you Have a Fleet Booster, A Fleet Commander, All wings Have a Wing commander, But none of the Squads have squad leaders then only the Fleet Commander, and Wing Commanders will receive the Boost.
If you have a Fleet Booster, A Fleet Commander, All Wing Commander, and Squad Leader positions filled only then will the entire Fleet receive the Boosts.
The only time it is Simple is if you have a single squad and the Booster is set as Squad leader and Squad Booster. This will cover a fleet of 10-11 members. This is simple as the booster needs leadership skills to get the booster skills. If the player who forms the fleet(i.e. the default squad leader) does not have the leadership skills trained the boosts will not be applied. |
