On many occassions i have killed indies and received almost nothing in their loot - the same goes for other types of ships. It seems to me that in many cases 90-95% of the items a ship either carries or has fitted is being destroyed - whats the point of piracy if this is the case? Surely it is only fair that 50% of items survive :one vicitm recently claimed he lost a tech 2 bpo in an indy I destroyed but ofc there was no sign of it in the loot:( Is this another subtle nerf to piracy - what r the experiences of others in regard to loot drops

You know...your kill mail you get says all the Destroyed items.... Back in my pirate days, (& with my alt), There was a problem with loot drops, and IMO there still isnt. Ive gotten plenty of items. And anyone who transports T2 BPOs in a hauler deserve to die. Thats plain stupid.

makes me wish you could just disable a ship and loot it without destroying it... _______________________________________________________

Edited by: Koda on 21/04/2005 18:56:43 It seems like more gets destroyed than survives but I don't know for sure. --------------

%90 of the time way more gets destroyed than the ships. But that also depends on the ships, you see stuff in the cargo hold rarely survives, and the stuff in the low slots don't survive well too.

With regards to the bpo as well it not possible to tell originals from copies on the destroyed items list so i will never know if he was telling the truth but indies its really luck it seems some indies u get 2 basic expanders other times i have had 500mill loot plus from a single indy but overall too much is destroyed imo just make it 50% of all it carries and 50% of mods - that is fair

Last I recall hearing is, each item has a 50% chance to be destroyed.

Edited by: Solarienne on 22/04/2005 01:26:30 Well.... if you think about it, it will be quite devastating to be a peice of equipment n a rupturing cargo hold... it stands to reason that alot will not survive...
Tho I am sure thsi is a pain to all of you wanting to make a quick buck out of unarmed haulers ;)...
i guess that means that us security corps stay in bussiness tho ;)...
Carry on as you were ladies and gentlemen :)

Yeah, I went pirate for a few days - but made more isk running a complex nearby than from what was dropped - the destroyed list was stupid
And my sec. went up because of the complex
So, back to being a good guy - I needed iskies, and I ain't mining for it -------------------------------------------------- There's plenty of room for all of Gods creatures...

Edited by: Cherok on 22/04/2005 12:17:17 Actually...I think he is on to something. It seems to me that the higher end items have a higher % chance of being destroyed. It happens time after time that we kill someone who has named equipment and just about all of it accept maybe 1 item is destroyed.
I know in general that items have a 50% chance of being destroyed...but it appears that high end items have a better chance.
I have also noticed that when you follow someone through a gate to catch them no the other side, 8/10 times you will be complete opposite them (30+km) when you uncloak. I thought this was random as well?

In my experience, you either get very lucky, or you get only crappy loot. A good example is a Harpy I blew up, it was fully equipped with all tech 2 gear and I got a capacitor flux coil and a tech 2 sensor booster. Don't ask...
Then my corpmates blow up a Ferox which has a crapload of named loot in it's hold, and almost everything survives. :)
I'm alright with it though, you never know what you're going to get - it could mean $$ or it could mean nothing.
