So would like to know if there is a way via ingame or with some sort of tool to find out how much say platinum insurance would pay out on any given ship without actually owning that ship? I need to check insurance payouts on a regular basis because of the SRP we have and unsure how to do that.
Any help would be appreciated. |

There is no REAL way to check how a ship is insured, but do know this: Insuring a T2 ship is a waste of money. The reason being is the insurance only covers the cost of the HULL. Either way, insuring a T1 ship, that helps a bunch.
There is probably a tool online somewhere. I think this link will help explain it. http://www.thonky.com/eve-online-guide/ship-insurance.php
And yes, you can insure your ships. (It's a sandbox, you're gonna lose a ship one way or another.) I don't always do ****. But when I do, it's usually worth doing. |

Even Hansel and Gretel would see it for what it is! Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Well where to start:
1.) Your Face 2.) Your Name 3.) The fail thread you started 4.) Any comment you made in which you try to be a new player (and fail horrible in it).

T2 insurance got changed a couple years back, and now it is completely worth the time it takes to insure a ship. For example, for a 180 million ISK Vagabond, you get about 40-50 million back with Platinum (if I recall correctly from my last Vaga lost).
In general, if there is any slight chance you will lose your ship in the next month, it is wise to insure it. Ed: The only really useless ships to insure are faction ships. Those things don't pay out almost at all (and you're not very likely to lose them).

Any help would be appreciated. Platinum insurance costs 30% and and pays out 100% (note that 100% - 30% = 70%). Only the hull is considered.
The material prices were indexed quite a while ago, but a very rough estimate can still be had by looking at buy orders for the hull (which are lower than sell orders).
I only recommend insuring ships you know you are going to lose (every ship in PvP, and the first time you use a new ship in PvE). |
