In my second week of playing now, and I am already starting to see myself getting bored soon. Just a few thoughts on how you can make this game so much better.
1. Have the 4 races be at war-- either 2 on 2 or all out all 4. Several fun things could develop becuase of this...
A. Secruity Ratings... Becuase your at war, your secruity rating will really depend on what race you are. If your Amaar, in Amaar controlled space you are free to move around, and all the faciliets at the bases will be open to you.
-- If you are Amaar and travel to say Minimiar space, which is who you are waring with, you would be kos (kill on sight) to the npc police, and be up other players (minmatar) to feely kill you with no consequnce. Killing someone you are at war with would raise your faction with your race, and lower it further to the waring race.
Also, say Amaar and Calrari are not at war, but not excatly friendly. So an Amaar can travel to Caldri space without fear of being attacked, but no one trusts them and no station will let you use there services. You could have agent driven quests, or other things so that an Amaar could raise Caldrai faction.
another varitaion, say you got ahold of a Minimatar ship, but where Amaar and where trying to fool them--tons of potential here with ship scanners and blockers, making you non-kos in minmaar space when you should be .... (cough smuggling)
-- also have a "fake" faction. If I am Amaar and want to smuggler/spy in Minmatar space, I would need to deveolp some type of Minmatar faction, but the officals in charge in Amaar realize that I am doing it just to futher Amaar.
Which could lead to some interesting missions about how far would you go befure you would be seen badly in Amaar's eyes. Kill an Amaar prisoner to prove loyatly..etc... Double spy, ....
--Whoever can establish the most bases claims that sector of there space. Allow bases and stations to be attacked and destroyed, Allow players to fortify bases. Could have boundries then that constatly change as to who controls it, and where they will be kos too.
Now the question would come up, why would you travel to your enemy's space without a huge escort== ahh leads to another idea...
....B. Each race has a speciality or advantage over the other ones. Say that the Amaar have better mining ships and lasers then the others, so they can gather resources significaly faster and produce more ships. However, the Amaar's ships offensive abilitys are nearly as good as the other races. etc....
-- This would open up smuggling and the black market. Amaar person wants to get to Minimatar space and buy weapons (becuse Ammaar lasers are inferior). First has to build up Miminar "fake" faction by doing agent quests or something of the like. Get a hold of a Minmatar ship (what minitar is going to sell an Ammar weapons) and successfully sneak across and but offenisve weapons and sneak back.
Obviously the price for such an item in Amaar space would be quite high, as the risk and rarity to get the item. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a few ideas, but as it stands now, the game is way to static.
Heck, you could even introduce an alein race from outside the Eve universide that starts taking over sectors that will force the 4 races to unite to defeat them
So many possibilities, and you have developed the platform to do it.
I hope something like this happens soon, as I don't see the game lasting very long if it does not, at least from my gameplay standpoint.
