Sometimes when this happens its due to the hardware getting old and failing. Thats all i can really think of.

Being a Bethesda game, I think you should be worried if you didn't come across any bugs lol.
Hmmm, looks like assets or something didn't load correctly. Judging from the game, I'm betting, like most people, you have mods installed. It might be a lot of work, but I'd stay in that spot (or a spot with the same issue) and reinstall each mod one by one until it breaks again. If it looks like that without any mods, a file may be missing from the original game. |

Looks like a cooked video card.
But it should all be under warranty if it's only 6 months old, so it's really just an inconvenience. "It's no use crying over spilt milk, because all the forces of the universe were bent on spilling it." ~William Maugham |

while steam has many good things, I've learned one simple thing about it: when you finish dload something, do a sanity check on the game (verify integrity of game cache). it solves many things, like why those guys conversation didn't sound but you have the subtitles anyway. Ah i see, I just had the same setup but I had a previous version of the drivers and I only updated because of upgrading to windows 8. Is there a way to get the previous version of the drivers? Not sure what version they were.
I had this same issue with WoW back in '05 with an ATI card. I had to revert back to a previous driver version to fix it. I've never had this happen to me with Nvidia thankfully. Best thread ever!!!

Here is how you can rollback your drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/object/driver_rollback.html
If you can't do a rollback, here is a site that keeps the older versions archive for this very reason. http://www.guru3d.com/files_categories/videocards_nvidia_geforce_vista_%7C_7.html Best thread ever!!!

Yes, as soon as it was done reinstalling i validated the cache. Said 1 was missing and will be reaquired, this in its self is a bug as it never reaquires this item that is missing |

any other ideas?
actually, Steam resets the skyrim.ini file every time you do a cache check, thus the file missing thing.
well, besides that all I can think of is a cooked gfx card. can you get someone to borrow you a card and check if the same problem occurs?
also, check motherboard drivers and stuff. who knows, it might help.

Have you tried different anti-aliasing settings?
And sometimes the settings in the video card control panel can override how games are meant to be played, causing problems.
If it's neither of those, maybe try to exorcise it? Although holy water is probably unwise. "It's no use crying over spilt milk, because all the forces of the universe were bent on spilling it." ~William Maugham |

I have no idea, i quess only it may be grafick artifacts due to hot GPU, chek temperatures, maybe your GPU is to hot, realy strange thing, my skyrim looks better at few years old gf 9600gt ;/
Instal new DirectX, or try run this game with less RAM, i dont know;/
But dont wory about your hardware if all other games run fine, maybe here lack of softwate that work with skyrim game code, like Directx things libary missing or some lack in grafic card drivers software.
Ask in ofcial Skyrim forum maybe somone know how to fix this...Good luck.
Personaly i got some grafic artifacts when my gpu is to hot. EvE isn't game, its style of living. |

Yea, ill try messing around with different settings and see if i can figure it out. I know its not overheating as it plays 70-75C when max is 99. A LOT of people have issues with that game so who knows what it is :/
PS eve forums had much better community :) not many people responded to other post. :/ |
