Theres always talking about putting more things into player hands. What about Corps being able to build their own empire grade jump gates? They'd need near perfect standings with the empire or maybe even perfect to erect one. The cost could be near astronomical to construct one. Shouldn't be something that becomes too common. Maybe like half the cost of a titan or comparable to the cost of one? They could regulate who can use it and perhaps even implement a charge to use it. As well as being charged by the empire to keep one up in space.
Destructible in case people want to declare war and get rid of your alt route. An ability to move it pending a 3-7 day unachoring stasis period
Can't be anchored in a trade hub
Obviously can still be camped easily like any other gate in hisec but just adds the potential for more player control and options.

Define trade hub. I don't think CCP programed any such feature in.

JITA and the other such trade hubs that have been a standard for many years? Or maybe just JITA.
The list you can't anchor one could go hand in hand with the restricted list that's used to limit PI due to system loads. Usually that goes along with trade hubs obviously.

Yea, they did. Jita has no belts and you can't run PI there. It's the same for Amarr. A long time ago Yulai was deemed a trade hub but had that status revoked. That's how it was defined when the change was made.
To the OP, I'd rather they have an NPC operated one for each region with a maximum of 2 or 3 per region. Allow people to 'invest' to make it happen. Not just ISK but materials as well. Once the Investment bars are full, the bridge goes on line. Cooperation bridges, Amarr to Caldari - Minmatar to Gallente. ISK is charges by NPC so it's a sink. Guns are added as they are at any space lane. |

I think CCP has said they dislike giving jump bridges to FW players for conquest so I doubt they would ever do it in high security space. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=174097 Separate all 4 empires in eve with lowsec. |

As much as I'd like to see them, I agree.
Without the fish bucket, choke points, error isn't forced on to people and it becomes less about bad timing and more about management. The fact that you wouldn't be able to use a high sec bridge while using auto pilot wouldn't factor in and should. |

It'd be a sink either way and its not a bad idea. But I don't see groups of people investing in something that they can't profit from or control. They'd only profit temporarily until that npc route starts to get camped as well.
Putting it in corps and alliance hands, lets them be used more strategically, makes them more vulnerable and like i said puts more things normally controlled by npc's in player hands (Player Opened Direct Wormholes) (Expanding on Wormholes) |
