The orca +

That requires sov. space and multiple anchored and defended poses or multiple rorquals/ titans.......... be realistic......... |

Lots of people manage it every day, if you don't want to invest the effort to make friends with sov/titans, or get them for yourself, then use gates like everyone else. Or you know store your **** in the rorq jump it and fly in frigs/pods to the destination. |

We already TECHNICALLY have a tech two orca.
It called the Rorqual.
B remote cloaking? I could only imagine how ground breaking of an idea that would be. No to mention ground breaking oped.
C: The Seeing a Rorqual, is already there, and it TECHNICALLY the big brother of the orca, why do we need another cap indy that needs to be rebalance and reworked into the game when all the balances and pitfalls of a Rorqual is already there? |

Neither is agile, and the Rorqual needs to be in vulnerable siege mode to get the bonus to its boosts on top of the rest.
Maybe they will get some form of fleet centric AOE cloak like this. All I know is they will be a bit too easy to pop if pushed into the open as they are now. Cloaking being on a ten minute manual cycle timer? (Author: Bree Okanata) Fine. As long as there is a ten minute timer for being docked in a station. Also, you can't stop moving in the game. Just add in a way so every ten minutes you are randomly warped to the nearest other player. Keeps people from going AFK. |

It would be interesting to have T2 Orca with similar effects to the BlackOps Ships, However I agree with most of the comments here that the Rorq already fills most of these roles. The AOE Cloak is a little too powerful though.
Maybe the solution is to have a module for the Rorq to give the ability to create the Industrial Jump Portal/Bridge with similar requirements/restrictions as the BlackOps Covert Jump Portal Generator. Could be interesting to have a group of BlackOps/Recons/Bombers go ahead and "Secure" a system for a Ninja mining op. |

Ok, here's a thought.
For the Rorqual, add a cloak effect to it's siege mode. It doesn't even need to be a genuine cloak, just simply some form of camouflage to make it look like an asteroid or similar expected object. This would also result in it being at the belt in question, allowing it to make use of those marvelous tractor beams.
For the Orca, add the cloaked siege mode with a 1 minute variation, since it can't compress ore, etc.
Hostiles that know for certain one of these are present can start looking for them. As with anything concealed, knowing it is there to be found is the biggest obstacle to overcome, the rest is patience and effort.
I would not make these cloak effects AoE, just for the ships themselves. |
