if there is to be an officer/deadspace/faction version of the damage control, it would probably be CPU requirements and resistances that would change. Perhaps in some cases also a change in duration. Where the science gets done |

Ummm... that Estamel's suggestion would be massively OP
Not everything has a deadspace/officer variant... sometimes its just faction.
I propose: Federation Navy Damage Control
17.5 % omni shield resists 20% omni armor Resists 65% omni hull resists
(ie, +5% to each resist type) |

Also, btw, keep in mind that the difference between 60 and 65% is NOT the same as the difference between 15 and 20%... |

Yes, I am well aware of that, although often CCP does not seem to be aware when making the stats for various things.
The way i figure it, its using the CN invuln vs T2 invuln as a starting point. In the CN case, you have a 37.5 resist (62.5% of damage gets through), T2 has a 30% (70%) of damage gets through. In this case, the T2 variant lets precisely (assuming no stacking modules) 12% more damage through. 70/62.5= 1.12
This 12% is not just an effective boost to buffer, but also incoming reps, active rep, shield regen, and a "primary tank type. ie, when you shield tank, the shield buffer is often much much more than a hull tank buffer - so increasing it by 12% is worth more than increasing the hull HP by 12% (this would be plainly obvious if you had a ship with 10,000 shield HP, but only 1000 hull HP)
What I proposed has 35% of the hull damage get through on the faction DC, and 40% get through for the T2 DC. 40/35= 1.143 A mere 2% greater increase than what you see with the CN invuln, which to reiterate, also help incoming and active reps passive EHP recharge, and bonuses a larger buffer.
If this DC would be OP, then I say the CN invlun is OP, and therefore the deadspace and officer invulns are also OP. |
