As a newer player I was really enjoying faction warfare. The fleet battles against the Amarr militia were a lot of fun. It was a great way to do some frig pvp and find fun exciting fights.
That was until another player with 3 or 4 accounts who is in the Amarr militia created multiple minmatar militia toons and began attacking us along with the Amarr players.
We are having to sit there and just watch our friends get picked off one by one. Militia chat being spammed, griefed and trolled or take such a huge factional warfare standing hit that we get kicked out of the militia. There are a few options but the last probably isn't going to happen.
1.) I can continue to whine like a baby and "carebear" never undocking to face my enemies.
2.) I can quit my corp, quit playing with my friends and quit factional warfare and go mine in Highsec
3.) I can buy two more accounts and do the same thing. (never going to happen)
4.)I could just quit paying for Eve (most probable)
5.)You could hire some goddamn customer service and just fix the stinking problem by kicking "blobcats" out of the Minmatar militia and giving us our standing back. (never going to happen)
PVP in this game is sometimes awesome, takes skill, planning, cooperation, training, and discipline. Probably the best game I have ever played. But sometimes it is players like this going farther than anyone else can, should or will do.
Point is, answer your petitions and keep this game fun. Its not like I'm complaining about losing a ship or a pirate chasing me and blowing me up. Risk and danger are one of the things that make this game great. Being heavily penalized for trying to stand up for yourself isn't.

Also, I think there are no faction standings hit for killing pirates in same militia (-5 or less). So perhaps tell your friends to quit being dirty pirates.
Is there really an Minmatar Corp named "blobcats"? |

Wrong, corp still gets sec hits. They don't agress until their Amarr toons show up. Point is they are "war targets" |

If your friends aren't in the same corp, the target won't be aggressed, and there's a massive standings hit for shooting someone in the same militia regardless of security status or militia standings.
The standings hit can be circumvented by cycling between corps (due to how corp standings is calculated), or by filling your corp with standings alts. It's how Adolf does his thing. The thing is that it doesn't work for an actual functioning corporation. |

Sure, why not. Since you can't regulate who your militia mates are, make awoxing them a diplomatic problem rather than a standings one. I'd rather they actually fix the pants-on-head idiotic mechanics with regards to how militia qualifications are calculated, but I'd settle for being able to shoot known awoxers indiscriminately. |

Again, let me repeat myself and Milton. They HAVEN'T been kicked from militia.
I liked Milton's answer. Remove faction hits for attacking friendly. We wouldn't do it anyway just because faction warfare is fun due to the feel of 2 huge groups fighting each other.
Diplomats tend to keep things cohesive.

Faction hits occur if you go pirate on somebody who is enrolled in an NPC corp. Kill enough of them and you can't run missions from that NPC corp.
The Gallente Federation is an NPC alliance. Killing players in the NPC alliance makes you take a faction hit and soon enough you can't run FW missions.
Makes sense to me. In any case, you can freely shoot all the militia members you want. Just make sure you have enough alts in your FW corporation to balance out your corp and alliance standings.

you can't honestly be comparing fixing a small security status hit (equivalent to killing about 5 rat BS's) to that of fixing faction standing (cosmos missions or 1 faction mission every 16 regular hisec missions) can you?
@Xgall, sure, make shooting friendly militia lose the FW corp standing (FDU for example) and base running missions off of FDU standing rather than faction standing. However penalising a persons main toon for defending himself vs a throwaway alt who is happy to shoot allied militia is plain dumb. On a side note, a militia toon using smartbombs in a large scale engagement (which is sometimes a required tactic to win certain fights) also destroys faction standings due to the same broken mechanic, this is also plain dumb. |

I can and I am. The hit may not be as severe but the consequences are much greater. Personal standings can be made up for by corpmates, security status cannot.
As for the idea of removing the standing penalty, I can honestly say that it would ruin FW over night. What little semblance of order we currently have in the militias is because of the consequences of friendly fire. It would turn FW into a free for all. Corps and alliances would have to assemble laborious lists of blues (much worse than now) as pirates flood the system for the free kill rights and no consequences. |

Look on the bright side, at least you can wardec the alt corps now. We had a corp in Gallente militia that awoxed in order to get you to declare war. Once you did, they set the war mutual and ransomed you to get out of it. This became annoying when we wanted to join an alliance. Individuals cannot do this due to the faction standings hit. The only way to do it is via offsetting faction standing alts in a player corp or by bouncing between alt corps every 6 days Adolf style. You shoot something/someone that is not a legitimate target you should get slammed with tickets, subpoenas and short men in the shower called 'Big Earl' .
Since the characters in question are themselves shooting allies they will soon find themselves kicked from militia (at least I think that is how it works now), so take down their names and when they are removed check periodically if they have been biomassed .. when that happens petition them and get the controller banned (biomassing to avoid consequences is a NoNo).
The lame duck will soon find his accounts filled with useless alts, aka. you win.
As for sec: Do what was suggested years ago. Move all sec gain to low-sec, where the crimes are committed and slap an extra modifier on rats in FW space to sweeten the deal .. perps (hopefully armed) roaming the countryside to appease Concord can only improve the lives of the pew'ers.
In short: CCP recently (2 years ago = yesterday with regards to FW changes) changed when/how people are ejected from FW due to standings so work within that system to discourage the described behaviour. |
